Marquette is No. 34 in the first KenPom rankings. 20th in defense, 48th in offense. 5th in the Big East behind UConn, St. John's, Creighton and Villanova. #MUBB

Akol Nyok is committed to Marquette. 7'1" center, 4⭐, No. 70 in the 2027 class. A true rim-size big whose stock has been climbing. Nice add for Shaka Smart.

Marquette has been picked to finish fourth in the BIG EAST preseason poll #mubb

Marquette is well represented on the Preseason All-BIG EAST teams, with three Golden Eagles earning recognition. Nigel James Jr. was named First Team All-BIG EAST, Royce Parham earned Second Team honors, and Sananda Fru landed on the Third Team. #mubb

Marquette will face off against Virginia and Texas A&M in the Battle 4 Atlantis

Shaka Smart adds fifth-year guard Colin Porter to bolster its backcourt. The 5-foot-10 guard started 135 games at Liberty, is a well known shooter. Excited to see what he brings to the golden eagles.

Shaka Smart gets his first recruit of 2027 with Marlon Martinez. He is a 6,4 shooting guard from Orlando Florida, Ranked 119 nationally

At the practice my takeaways - Nigel James is Big east player of the year - Minnesale could fit in the 1 at any time, great handle, active not afraid to shot, but wasn’t draining shots - Fru is a big improvement on the inside, plays well with Parham.
