Jan Bytnar „Rudy" and Maciej Dawidowski "Alek" died #OTD in 1943, 4 days after "Operation Arsenal". It was one of the bravest actions of the Polish underground against the German occupation during WWII.
They were immortalised in the novel "Stones for the Rampart" by A. Kamiński.

By converting 10% of cropland to native prairie, farmers can reduce soil loss by 95%, total phosphorous loss by 90%, and total nitrogen loss by 85%
