This tweet is a lesson to all of you... just because someone with a fancy bio tweets it, does not make it true. If you're one of the people who got mad at David, you are part of the problem. Educate yourself, don't trust clickbait titles, you're better than this, be better.
It was, in retrospect, inevitable /cc @davidfowl

To be clear, this was a joke, referencing the recent tweet about bringing razor to rust. I shoukd not be allowed access to devtools in edge.

I weep for how easily baitable .NET devs are, and territorialistic. Like... my dudes (and yes, it was all dudes) 2 clicks would have solved you anger, but no... must... get annoyed... Rust is a fine language (its no C#, but what is), but Azure .NET Aspire will stay .NET.

Who do we petition at @Apple and @Android to get "@Tailscale debugging" into the developer options. Asking for a friend... and me.

This pattern should be part of Aspire right?

Aspire commands are the future of agentic software development. They've basically 10x'd my agents ability to investigate bugs. Seeding data for a test is so easy. "Make flight XXX return Landed" instead of the agent understanding the API contract. No need for skills.

It reduces the context windows, provides a harness for me, and the agent to use. Its a place to hold test workflows without putting them in the API directly. You can run logic too. The latest one I did took from text input, generated a QR code and sent that to a mock!

I sat down with @samnewman to talk about his keynote for o11yday next month in London. We talked about taste, and how coding agents can acquire it. Along with the impact of software factories on engineering practices. It should be a great talk. Register: go.hny.co/4fil6Fx

On episode 93 of @o11ycast, Ken Rimple and Martin Thwaites (@MartinDotNet) join Mike Goldsmith (@mike_goldsmith) of @honeycombio for a deep dive into telemetry cost control and the OpenTelemetry Collector. They explore the tradeoffs between logs, metrics, and traces, along with new tools for intelligently filtering, routing, aggregating, and sampling observability data. Mike also explains how dynamic sampling can retain rare and meaningful traces without requiring teams to keep everything. hubs.ly/Q04wjw3j0

Rewriting it in PHP was definitely a good idea, totally, that was definitely the right choice.

Chatting with @QuinnyPig the other day "It's actually really hard to run up a big DynamoDB bill" "Challenge accepted..." Apparently if I re-architect our booth game to use Lambda to "save money on EKS", re:invent will cost us $25k in DynamoDB costs to run it.

Here's my claim: #dotnet now has the best cross-platform 2D graphics stack in the world. Not the best "for #dotnet" The best. Full stop. ImageSharp. Drawing. Fonts. Tell me what beats it.

If github went paid today, no more new free repos that you can share, github action minutes slashed to something mostly non-existent, would the ai-slop-prs stop? Would the countless ai-slop oss projects with no maintenance plan stop? Would anthropic setup a git hosting platform?

This is an incredibly poor take, and doesn't admit the reality of the heavily subsidised inference world we live in. $200/month is fine, but that isn't the final cost, and at an enterprise level that isn’t the cost at all (anthropic removed fixed pricing for teams).
Why the fuck would I spent $4000-5000 on a rig to write essays, mails, excel with local models??? You people are out of your minds

For hobbyists, influences, content creators, it will always be $200/month max (I pay $20 for claude), because they don't have a team and the work is isolated and small. Teams are budgeting $5000/year of tokens PER PERSON. Thats why the N1X will be priced at that.

I guarantee that these influences will be saying local coding models are the future come October when the N1X devices are released. Get good at context management and you won't be caught in the next anthropic or copilot price hikes as you can use a Strix Halo or N1X.
