The weather models are showing a big anticyclone over Ireland next weekend bringing quiet, settled weather. It's a big high & not far off the record
(1043.8 hPa Sherkin Island 22/10/2018).
Unlikely to beat that but might just serve to keep the rain at bay 'til end of the month.
Plenty of #Aphids about still with the mild temperatures and lots of new growth about as crops establish fast in the still warm soils.

Up to 30mm has fallen now in parts of Kilkenny and Carlow with some heavy showers in last hour in Carlow. Ulster is for one enjoying a much better day. Very little rain so far in Stradbally but some more to come today.

Over 25mm now in parts of Kilkenny with some local flooding reported as intense rain hits. From drought to flooding! Stradbally has escaped most of the heavy rain so far.

After about 3 hours of rainfall yesterday evening, only 0.9mm accumulated. Yet another weak front delivered very little for Kilkenny. This daily rainfall shows since June 18th (10.2mm) there has been very little. Currently we are at 80% of normal for the year to mid August.
