Deadliest (heatwave) summer on record in Europe. Almost no news about it.
Deniers: "Climate change isn't real."
The heat: kills more than 50,000 people in Europe in a single summer.
The study: blames human-caused climate change for most of it.
The politicians: "Let's drill more gas!"
Deniers, fossil fuel profiteers, the politicians who sold us out, and the media that keeps burying it....
This one's on you 🤬

Marine scientists have warned for a long time about this.
Will the warnings about other tipping points also be mostly ignored?
Or will the world start to prioritise stopping global warming?
We can do it, but time is running.

As the reflectivity (albedo) of Earth continues to set new record lows, more of the incoming solar radiation is absorbed by the Earth system, increasing the amount of energy available to heat the oceans, atmosphere, and land, and to melt ice.

For the first time in recorded history, the Niño 3.4 sea-surface temperature (SST) is above 30.0°C, reaching a preliminary SST of 30.06°C on October 5th.
The Niño 3.4 SST anomaly is now 3.41°C above the 1991-2020 baseline.
