It’ll be interesting to see if GrapheneOS takes hold.
Can't wait to move away from Google Pixels for GrapheneOS. Finally Moto provides a good CPU/GPU flagship alternative.

Every time I read that they want to demolish this building, my heart sinks. I have memories going as far back as being five or six with my grandparents the day after Black Friday.
Looks like San Francisco Centre will remain vacant until 2029. New buyer is expected to close in early 2027 and will then require 2 years to get approvals for its redevelopment plan, which may involve demolishing the existing buildings. sfchronicle.com/bayarea/arti…

Reading doomerism on OpenAi and Anthropic IPOs as related to their debt / revenue / market value- the FUNNIEST outcome in the meme universe would be that massive data center structures and GPU clusters become affordable enough for private co’s to gobble supply. You’d have bidders everywhere to buy 100k-5m of compute hardware. This inadvertently decentralizes GPU and Cuda clusters. GPU co-ops. Imagine- every company with cash flow and a balance sheet owning 1TB of GPU ram, and public companies like Apple or Tesla slamming 1B a week into it. Super-intelligence becomes competitive and widespread. In every house a GPU or two.

Let me tell you a story about how unethical Anthropic is. In April, the Anthropic team began heavily courting our engineering team to tell them corporate secrets, technical details, and future plans for @cfosilvia. They pretended their interest was due to our exploding popularity and accelerating compute usage, but it quickly became apparent that Anthropic was fishing for details on how we built our product and why it was so popular. This included the Anthropic team trying to wine-and-dine our engineers, including a infamous steak dinner where someone told our team "don't worry about it, this is on Dario." Our team was not born yesterday, so we quickly realized what was happening and refused to share sensitive information and technical details with the Anthropic team. As we suspected, Anthropic was trying to get information from us, so they could build a competing product. Some people on their team must have a guilty conscious because they messaged us a few days ago to give us "a heads-up" that they were launching a competing product. Thankfully, the Silvia engineering team has been aggressively working to get off the frontier models for the last ~ 6 months. That effort has been highly successful, because our compute costs are ~ 97% lower when we use our own model & hardware, the latency is lower, and the accuracy of answers materially increases as well. The sad thing for Anthropic is they have now released an inferior product and they had to sell their soul to do it. The only thing worse than being a trillion-dollar company that can't beat a 10-person team is being a trillion-dollar company that no one trusts and everyone knows is unethical. Serious investors continue to choose @cfosilvia over ChatGPT, Claude, and other frontier companies because these products are not optimized to solve the actual user problem. Today, Anthropic launched a Claude wrapper that is masquerading as a personal finance product. Best of luck to them. But I will take the Silvia misfits vs the Anthropic losers any day of the week. if you want to support people trying to do things the right way, and help investors be more informed, then consider signing up for Silvia today: silvia.com

$STRC is back at par. Strategy doomers should either… A) admit they were wrong Or… B) remove themselves from the internet. It’s fine to be wrong. It’s not fine to stoke fear and doom and then pretend it never happened.

I was at a party once with MC Hammer. He came up to my girlfriend and sniffed her, and then gave me a little fist bump of approval. Super weird, yet memorable
I recently finished Arsenio Hall's memoir and in the book he described this MC Hammer performance and I had to go back and watch... Man, Hammer used to put on a SHOW, man!

That’s it. I’m only flying Gulf streams from now on

Long post worth the read. I have a close friend who flies private jets. He flew Lear 60 for over 15 years and now flies a Gulfstream. This is a copy and paste of his response to me asking him if he thought Ice was the issue. “We always fly in ridiculous cold temperatures.” “Usually you get the bad ice when the temperatures are like 0 to negative 20. Believe it or not, there's a point where it gets too cold for ice. At negative 40, you pretty much can't get ice. Besides that, the airplane is equipped with hot wings and hot tail.” “I flew the Lear 60 for like 15 years. It's a no joke airplane and probably the most dangerous airplane I've ever flown. It has a super critical wing. The airflow has to be perfect. When it gets into rough air and turbulence, it will easily stall. It has stalled on me at 41,000 feet just because we got into some turbulence. (On the way to Palm Beach as a matter of fact. ) we recovered and got her flying again around 30,000 ft. Scary But here's the problem. This airplane has a terrible coffin corner. (At high altitudes) what that means is, you fly in a really narrow window where if you lose 20 knots, it stalls. And if you gain 20 knots, it goes into overspeed. The air goes supersonic over the wing and it goes into a high speed stall, or worse, a Mach tuck. So if you stall, the normal recovery is to push the yoke forward to lower the nose and gain air speed again. At low altitude, you can push really hard and recover quickly. But in the 60... if you push hard, it will gain air speed and go into a high speed stall, it doesn't take much. It's very sensitive. The 60 has super short wings that don't make much lift. So then you high speed stall, and the computer is yelling at you... OVERSPEED! So then you pull back and enter a low speed stall. And you go back and forth trying to keep it in the air speed window. This whole thing is pretty scary. And you should recover basically by using your finger tips using super small corrections. You can't over do it. If you try to muscle the recovery, she gets mad and will become unrecoverable. If she enters a mach tuck. You're done.” “I taught the Lear 60 to other pilots and mentored them. I told them... this airplane has a soul and it's trying to kill you. Do not ever try to top the weather. Don't go over a thunderstorm. Go around it. If it means a half hour longer, then do it. Going over the thunderstorm will go into turbulence that you might not recover from. These pilots went right over a thunderstorm. I think it stalled which caused them to drop down into the thunderstorm and ended up in mach tuck. They picked up so much speed that it ripped off the horizontal stabilizer. At that point... chuck Yeager can't fix it. These same pilots did something similar a couple months ago. ATC got mad at them. They poked the bear one too many times. This is not a beginner airplane. The Gulfstream would never do this. It has HUGE margins of error and won't stall like that. But then again... it's got HUGE wings. It's a pussy cat. The Gulfstream is like driving a 4 wheeler. The Lear 60 is like riding a uni cycle.”

I know multiple people who basically quit working on Bitcoin because of how stressful it is to maintain software that handles money nowadays. I tell them all the same thing: What do you think will happen if we all quit and become gardeners? Are we just going to give up on the internet? Do we just accept fiat as the end game? Are we just going to let go of the dream of an internet that doesn't exploit your humanity and take away your rights to privacy and self-determination? I know, fuck, it is hard. But you're not alone. We must fix this. Nobody else is there to do the necessary work. If we stop doing this, we're 100% doomed. I can guarantee it. But if we continue, we have a chance.
Please don't get black-pilled. We need you. There's nobody else doing the work. We must fix the internet.

I work in aviation so this morning I got to sit around with a bunch of pilots and discuss this horrible situation and I found it so interesting that none of the pilots thought the gender or race of the pilots were a factor at all but a bunch of fucking idiots on here do.
Co-pilot. Not in charge of the cockpit. Thousands of people dragging her. You guys are vultures.

This is for the fools who think they know so much about aviation mocking the woman. The Lear jet fell from 35,000 ft to 10K ft in 1 min! This plane fell 7000 ft. It’s real easy to speak idiocy from a keyboard vs actually experiencing it.
