I've been sitting on this article for way too long already (started 2 years ago!), so here it is: medium.com/@mathieudutour/de…
On January 2023, I added an option in Raycast to replace ⌃⌥⇧⌘ with ✦ for the Hyper key.
This probably took 15min. I needed a symbol for the Hyper key and found one on Wikipedia
But it spawned up an interesting side quest
Meet the Raycast Keyboard ⌨️
A low-profile mechanical keyboard, designed with @nuphystudio for instant access to your favorite commands.
🎹 14 custom keycaps
*️⃣ Dedicated Hyper key
🤫 Silent linear switches
🖥️ Made for macOS and Windows
Available now → ray.so/kbd
When I showed him where ✦ for Hyper had ended up on Wikipedia, he replied:
“yeah i think i spread it”
Mystery solved. I’d found the person at the other end of my copy-paste.
I don’t know if I’ve ever posted my aperiodic monotile tablecloth but it’s such a good and geeky conversation topic/ice breaker
Highly recommended!
This was a fun project!
When we set out to integrate the Raycast extension ecosystem with AI, we knew that the extensions Commands weren't the right abstraction for AI to interact with.
We needed a lower-level building block: Tools. Tools are really just functions
And because Tools are just a function, you can import them in the extension Commands directly to use them there. Tools becomes this lower-level building blocks that contain your business logic.
Claude and I made an app that only shows you where you’ve already been. It’s quite interesting, already made me look for paths to reveal parts of the map
It’s called FOWIRL - Fog Of War In Real Life 😂
You might recognise the concept of @untitledmapapp but they shut down and didn’t open source anything 😢
