The CQC's report on seclusion and segregation has now been published. A hard read in parts but also some positive stories where PBS and discharge planning is done well to reduce restrictive practices.
People should feel safe & secure in their homes, and be supported by people and services that have their best interests at heart. People should be cherished and supported to thrive.

Twitter probably wasn't the place to come to look for updates on COVID-19 and management of seclusion! Probably should've considered the original definition of seclusion 🤦♀️

Heard this lady talk at the restraint reduction network conference today. From street activism to getting herself heard in front of the then home secretary, she gets a law passed through Parliament in the name of her son. Aji Lewis, what a woman!

I've heard a number of professionals using the term "committed" suicide recently despite the fact that suicide has not been a crime for many years (& never should have been).
Can we please try to change the language?
"Died by suicide" is a much less stigmatising term.
So proud to be sat in a room with so many people commited to supporting people's humans rights who have pledged to reduce restrictive practices.
