New #Spycops documentary on former Tory councillor Andy Coles. In early 90s he was a married 32 year old cop infiltrating animal rights campaigns when he exploited ‘Jessica’, then a teenage activist, for sex and cover. His actions were an abuse of power. bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0…

The Guildford Four were released on this day 1989. They spent 15 years in prison for something they didn’t do. Their only crime was being Irish.

For the last 14 years I listened to people calling me guilty. For the last year I listened to people saying I was not exonerated and we won on a technicality. Well Friday changed that. The case in law we were subjected to was so egregious it could not even withstand a guilty plea

Another significant day in righting a major miscarriage of justice. The Court of Appeal’s decision to quash five more Libor trader convictions confirms what we have said for years: these prosecutions were fundamentally flawed. Individual traders were cast as scapegoats to appease public anger and turn focus away from the failings of the banks and the government. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm4g…

Very good @MattFoot2 article on the Court of Appeal's grudging reluctance to rectify miscarriages of justice. Malkinson, Plummer, Sullivan ..... Will Letby be added to that list? lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v48/n17/…

This is why we need Trew's Law. Christopher Poulter & Kevin Biggs have finally had their convictions quashed - 50 years after they were convicted on evidence from a corrupt officer. How many more people must spend decades fighting to uncover the truth? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwnv…

Two more convictions  linked to the corrupt police officer Derek Ridgewell were quashed today by the Court of Appeal. It should not take decades to get justice. That's why we're campaigning with Winston Trew for Trew's Law. ➡️ appeal.org.uk/trews-law

Michael Holding took a caught-and-bowled to dismiss Ian Botham, but pulled his hamstring in the process. Botham then helped carry M. Holding off the field as he walked back to the pavilion himself. A brilliant reminder of why we love this game.
