Four Burning Questions About Oregon's Offense Following Drew Mehringer's Departure 247sports.com/college/oregon…

Oregon basketball showed some good growth in its clobbering of Stanford on Sunday. Plus, the Ducks got Malique Ewin eligible, and longtime assistant Kevin McKenna decided his late-July retirement is over and has rejoined the staff. Instant takeaways: 247sports.com/college/oregon…

Oregon closes out its exhibition season with an impressive 85-57 victory over Stanford. Fred Payne with 15 points, recently cleared forward Malique Ewin with 11, and then Sean Stewart added 10 points. Ducks shot 50%, Stanford 31%, and just 9 Duck turnovers.

Make that three straight possessions for Ewin grabbing an offensive rebound and putting it back up for a layup.

Back-to-back possessions where Ewin grabbed an offensive rebound and scored on a putback attempt. Second one he was fouled and converted the 3-point play.

I mean, he's playing. I dont think Oregon would play a guy if he wasn't eligible......

Oregon shot 50% from the field in the first half and held Stanford to 30. Ducks won the rebounding battle 22-13 and had seven turnovers to Stanford's eight. 18 points in the paint for Oregon and nine assists on 14 baskets. Ducks are winning basically every category right now.

Got to MKA for the Ducks' final exhibition against Stanford. Ducks lead 40-24 at halftime. Bigger news is that F Malique Ewin is eligible. Could arguably be the team's best player. Looks like recently retired assistant coach Kevin McKenna is back and on the bench coaching.

No mention of Dan Lanning's decision on who now takes over OC duties for the rest of season. Will be something we'll ask about on Monday night, but previously Dan has cited previous changes to Oregon's offensive operations would give away a competitive advantage and declined.

Dan Lanning announces change at OC as Drew Mehringer has been relieved of his duties.

Absolutely brutal. And to give some context, Oregon also lost and was playing in Illinois. Lanning + Raiola, Poncho, Jackson, and Tuioti spoke for nearly 25 minutes. Probably could have gone longer too. Tough day for the Ducks, but kudos to Oregon and their SIDs for access.

How much longer can Dan Lanning defend Oregon's struggling offensive operation? 247sports.com/college/oregon…
