No, it that men and the male experience are seen as the default of humanity, while the female PoV is other. If a male comedian does an anecdote about something that happened in his life, it's comedy, if a woman does it she's doing a lecture about being a woman.

Because, in general, men write fiction that appeals to everyone, regardless of whether the protagonist is a man or a woman. In general women write things that appeal to women. Look at it in other places. Comedy and sports are two other great examples. The majority of male comedians appeal to everyone. The majority of female comedians base their whole shtick on being a woman.
