Thrilled to announce that I worked (again) on Valve's latest @DOTA2 True Sight documentary! I made four sequences from A to Z (animation, lighting, compositing, etc.), 45 seconds in total. 😄

With the new first-person arms in @sboxgame, I thought I'd add a tiny thing: the ability to animate the forearm twist helpers ON TOP of the procedural twist. This allows you to tweak the pose, but also to do a very basic, "low-tech" muscle jiggle, like in this quick test anim:
Here's what I made for this year's Dota Secret Santa! The prompt I got was "Dawnbreaker using Legion Commander as an armrest while they pose for a holiday picture." 🎅
Achievement unlocked: my work on a Nintendo console 🥲
Paint everything with a magic brush, solve drawing puzzles and meet a cast of colourful characters with Chicory: A Colorful Tale, out now on #NintendoSwitch! #IndieWorld

I've found my new favorite Twitter account.
Sam just implemented some really kickass SDF-based reflections in our branch of Source 2, check this out ✨
Here's some excellent reference material for first-person animators... lots of neat videos in this channel! youtube.com/channel/UC2liIKa…

3D animation is my passion, but so is doing multi-track drifting at 200mph on the sinuous roads of French grammar

We had a pretty good time with shaders in @sboxgame this morning
"Carried Away", my entry to the 2021 Dota 2 Short Film Contest! It's inspired by those few weeks when couriers got to use items, like real heroes... I'm really happy with how this one came out. 😄

Thank you @SirActionSlacks 😄 and a huge thank you to everyone for the support! That's my fourth win...😮! When I tick off ten on this loyalty card, I'll walk into the Valve offices and claim my free sandwich. #TI10
While anxiously waiting for the results of the #TI10 Short Film Contest, I've put together an ArtStation post about my entry! There's lots of neat stuff, and some shot breakdowns 😄 artstation.com/artwork/w62nG…
At first, I wasn't sold on the "fake crowd" sounds... but whoever is piloting the system during the games is doing a really great job at making it sound like the real thing 👍 #TI10
It's not much, but there's a couple things with my animation setup for @sboxgame that I'm really happy with. Right at the end of the animgraph, there's a loop of tiny (±2°) eye darts that plays on top of everything. And when looking around, eyes are ALWAYS leading the movement!
There are 3 "look at" systems chained back-to-back: pelvis+spine, neck+head, and eyes. The body is set to have loose spring damping, the head less so, and the eyes have none, so they lead! (Guns in your hands are also set that way, and in that case body damping is dialed back.)

I've been meaning to show off the new Bearzky model I made for @MaxLebled's Dota 2 Short Film Contest this year, and here he is! Voting is open for the finalists in-game now, so check out the entries if you're so inclined. 🥰
