Even better: the US Army remade the laws of war for the modern world in reaction to the Confederacy's white supremacist decision to execute Black soldiers rather than treat them as prisoners of war. Seriously. That was the reason.

THIS IS AWESOME! John Legend, who is a native of Springfield, Ohio asks his neighbors to love their Haitian neighbors:
“They are hardworking, they're ambitious, they commit less crime than native born Americans.”
He also argues it’s the Christian thing to do:
“How about we love one another? I grew up in the Christian tradition. We said to love our neighbor as we love ourselves and treat strangers as though they might be Christ.”
What a powerful message. Thank you John! 💙

Sydney Knipp, 16, tiptoed to the stage’s edge and peered around the black curtain at the nearly 1,500 people waiting for “Marian, or The True Tale of Robin Hood,” to start.
It was the largest audience she had ever seen. wapo.st/3q9OJTu

"If an accurate depiction of white racism and cruelty is a metric by which educational instruction and materials can be banned, how is a true and full teaching of American history possible?" asks @CharlesMBlow.

Ron Desantis seems to think his recent behavior will help him in 2024. Is he that dumb or are we really in that much trouble?

A man was sitting alone, on a bench in a park, singing Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer by himself.
By the end, the entire park joined along to sing with him.
