Buying flood insurance just got easier. (Maybe not cheaper, but easier) NFIP used to be structured in two ways. Either 250k building/100k contents or a 150k building/max 100k contents. Now, FEMA has launched a new tool to purchase a National Flood Insurance Policy (NFIP) online

$1,250 deductible up to $10,000. ✅Has options for renters insurance. Cons: ❎Policy limit is still max $250,000 for building. Which means homes exceeding total loss value may need a supplementary policy to cover any additional loss to be protected fully, especially in risk areas

❎Depending on overall risk- Insurance premiums are still high, and can leave a level of unaffordability, even with all the new options. We applaud this new tool and the efforts to make flood insurance more accessible. Although there is still work that could be done.
