This ETHBTC trendline has held since 2016, probably longer than most of you have been in crypto. It's under the trendline now, not by much, a bit.. but definitely enough to cause concern.

Hot take: The bullish narrative around low fee L1s is skeuomorphic. It assumes the next wave of entrants will use crypto the way we've been using crypto - with browser wallets and gas fees. What if that's ded wrong? What if the next wave of users entering crypto don't need to worry about gas fees and wallets and private keys. I'm looking at Immutable right now. It's powered by Polygon's zkEVM - there's no concept of gas for users. Gas fees are abstracted away. Users play the games, trade the assets, use defi without even knowing gas or ethereum exists. When you loaded this app did you concern yourself with the $.00000001 transaction fee twitter paid to AWS for the compute? No. You just used the app. We don't need low-gas chains we need no-gas chains. When crypto works in its final form everyday people will be onchain without know they're onchain. Everyone here is an uber-nerd power user. We shouldn't assume the next 100m are like us.
