No one blogs any more but I've decided I don't care. A few words about family and fruit and finding my way back. Or forwards. Or something.

Children's Book Week is almost upon us and here's where my voice recognition software thinks I'm going. Hit me with your best guess!
Just had a surveyor here who informed me that I am "living in the void" and ngl that explains a lot.
"I cry, the toddler points at birds..."
My work is done.

What generous words! "Recipe for a rich and rewarding childhood" is a glorious line and I am definitely stealing it at the earliest opportunity. :)

"For every child who loves to dream..."
I think that's every child, right? I hope so!
Always follow secret tracks –
the paths that wind and wend through cracks.
Never worry where they go.
When you get there, then you’ll know.
ALWAYS NEVER ALWAYS from @MegMcKinlay and #LeilaRudge is out now for every child who loves to dream 🌺
So happy to have this little treasure out in the world!
This new title is a lyrical, whimsical handbook for anyone needing a little quirky guidance for going boldly out into the world. 🚲🦆

“Frog,” said Toad, “if I dust my chairs and scrub my windows and water my plants right now, then I will not have to do it tomorrow, will I?”
“No,” said Frog. “You will not have to do any of it.”
It's rhyming & whimsical and adventurous!
And it also contains the crucial life advice:
"Never worry that you're stuck
Especially when you're with a duck"
Thanks to @onemorepageAU for this excellent first review of "Always Never Always", on shelves now in all the book places.
When @MegMcKinlay & Leila Rudge make a picture book, you know it will be magical. ALWAYS NEVER ALWAYS is no exception. With rhyming text delightfully accompanied by whimsical illustrations, it's a guidebook for the child who believes in magic & trusts in the promise of adventure.
Crafting post-Book Week emails as if I'm writing lyric poetry. Why am I like this? Why must every damn word be forged in fire? Why can't I just say 'HERE'S THE INVOICE SHOW ME THE MONEY GOODBYE'??
Casually sitting in one of two 15-min parking bays on a Freo street, I look up to see James Foley strolling by; mid-catch-up chat, we clock Tim Winton pulling into the other bay.
Unclear of the criteria for being declared an official City of Literature, but surely this covers it?
Supporting material: that one time I accidentally networked with the CEO of @TeamAWESOMEArts in the trolley bay at South Freo Woollies
