Grangemouth produced 97% of Scotland’s aviation fuel. We now have to import all our aviation fuel.
Scotland is Europe's 2nd biggest oil producer. We now have to import all our oil products at inflated prices.

🚨 Do NOT piss on me and tell me it’s raining!
I refuse to listen to ideology from globalists who supported this bollocks. You want to know why our fishing fleet is on its knees??? I’ll tell you….. (yes I’m furious)
▪️ 52% of our registered fishing vessels have gone since 1994. Decades of quota restrictions and vessel decommissioning has destroyed the fleet.
▪️ Extended EU fishing access to British waters until 2038.
▪️ Allowed foreign industrial SUPERTRAWLERS to operate legally in British marine protected areas. Greenpeace documented 26 fishing across 44 protected areas over 5 years. (Labour say there is no definition of a super trawler so they can’t do anything)
▪️ Kept fishing quotas tied to historical allocations. Around 87% of England’s 2026 quota was distributed through this system.
▪️ Agreed to a 44% CUT in North Sea cod quota for 2026 amid serious concerns about depleted fish stocks.
▪️ Imposed additional post-Brexit export paperwork, health certification and border checks on our seafood exporters.
▪️ Introduced further fishing-ground restrictions, with proposals affecting another 41 English marine protected areas.
▪️ Watched fishing diesel prices DOUBLE since March, leaving some British boats unable to cover the cost of going to sea.
▪️ Provided no equivalent emergency fuel-price grants to those offered by France, despite repeated industry appeals.
▪️ Imported almost 190,000 TONNES of seafood from CHINA in 2025, much of it whitefish.
We are an ISLAND NATION! We have our own seas, our own fish and our own fishermen (who we treat like remedials)
Our own policies have helped shrink our fleet, and don’t even talk to me about food security!
This is what happens when you put everyone else first before your own country. We are not here to fund all humanity … we are Britain!
(Actually furious)

Hang on a minute ………. If there’s Five refineries in England, why would any oil coming from Rosebank be sent to Belgium for refining …….. something stinks here and it involves closure of Grangemouth and UK GOV and Jim Ratcliffe. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🏴🏴🏴🏴
Nice one @Grouse_Beater
"Is that why the Scottish Peerages became British Peerages when England & Scotland merged and members of British Royalty had Scottish roots including the first King of the joint Crown, King James VI & I?" Mr Dumbass
No. You are indulging in historical fantasy. There is no king of Scotland, Mr Dumbass.
Until and including WW1 we fought for England's interests. "England expects that every man will do his duty", (Nelson) and "There's some corner of a foreign field forever England". (Brooke)
The slaughter in WWI caused by incompetent generals was so great, our people so scunnered by it, our oppressor had to find a new reason to encourage us to join up for WWII. We were asked to fight for Britain, an artificial construct.
Be careful next time you think of posting guff. Some of us know English history better than the English. After all, your elders taught us it.

And the collapse in confidence is showing up in the tills.
UK retail sales fell 0.4% in September, four times worse than economists expected.
Households are being squeezed by food, fuel, heating bills and inflation, so they cut discretionary spending.
Then retailers suffer.
Investment slows.
Jobs weaken.
Growth suffers.
You cannot tax, shock and frighten consumers into producing economic growth.
Household security drives spending. Spending drives growth.

Gent in classes has a proper rant against Andy Burnham's Labour's decision to approve Jackdraw saying,
"I think it climate vandalism, a surrender to t he fossil fuel giants"
He then slams Jim Ratcliffe who closed down factories in the UK and has invested instead in drilling in the Gulf of Mexico
He then slams the argument that it will help with our energy security pointing out that renewables are the way to protect our nation's energy security
My view:
That is the contradiction at the heart of Burnham’s decision: asking Britain to accept more fossil fuel extraction in the name of security, while the country remains exposed to global gas prices and the climate damage that comes with burning it.
Jackdaw is no shield against another international price shock. Even at peak output, it is expected to supply only around 4% of Britain’s daily gas demand, and it will not bring household bills down.
It gives the fossil fuel industry another project; it does not give Britain control over the price of gas.
And when Jim Ratcliffe is closing British factories while investing in offshore drilling, we should ask whose interests this model of “energy security” really serves.
The durable answer is to reduce our exposure to fossil fuels: build renewables, storage and grid capacity here at home.
The sun and wind do not have to pass through a strait, depend on a foreign government, or arrive with a global price tag.

Storm Boelo will hit Scotland on Saturday and power cuts are apparently a strong possibility. Fortunately, I've got a woodburning stove & an LPG hob and if it lasts I can use a baby generator. Grid based electrification is a truly barmy idea.

Endless streams of English MPs and English commentators, talking about Scotlands resources. The very same ppl who’ve been relentlessly telling us that Scotland is too poor to be independent, for years.

So was he a lying bastard for himself or worse a lying bastard for England.
Here's the Brit nationalist 'Better Together' oil tycoon Ian Wood on TV 2014 telling Scots 'we have some oil in the shale and rocks, but it's not economically exploitable'. BBC Scotland said all oil gone by 2019. In 2023 'UK' is dependent on Scotland's huge reserves #YouYesYet?
Entertaining to see all these journalists in England, 30 years late catching up on Scotland saying ‘why was North Sea Oil money squandered?’👇
