‘people started having pre-marital sex in the 1950’s’ It’s on the internet, so it must be true 😵‍💫
People usually say that the pill caused the sexual revolution but a) people started having premarital sex in the 1950s, a decade before the pill and b) contraception is widely used by people who don't live very post-sexual-revolution lives (like in Asia). I think the sexual revolution, i.e. more permissive attitudes about sex, caused the pill to be invented and not the other way round. But then, why did the sexual revolution happen? I have cooked up a theory. Just as how women have more casual sex on college campuses with fewer men, I think women, as a collective, responded to the male shortage caused by the Second World War by shortening their hemlines and having premarital sex. My intrepid daughter is finally in Reykjavik, after overnight diversion to Amsterdam. She planned her stay with online info and reviews from lone female travellers. In my head she’s my baby, still, but she’s striding the world. I never had a dad so I wing it one reality at a time

Anyone making money from the pornification of girls’ school uniform should be subject to serious sanctions These girls are right. It shouldn’t be up to them to fight this, but I support them in doing so

Gender-neutral language is a scam
"One in Ten Adults". "People". "Persons". For the first 27 lines of this article, it's a mystery to the reader who overwhelmingly beats up who. This article is a mess: careful gender-neutral language, no hard data - but only featuring female victims. thetimes.com/uk/crime/articl…

If I’m on a panel I find out who else is. Not to police them or their views but to be sure that it’s not a ‘manel’ (unless it’s something exclusively about the subjective experience of being a man) In this case, it looks like no one asked anyone anything. Absurd 😞
I know this pic has been posted by others already, but... what on earth @RCPhysicians ?! 😱 #NoMoreManels #DiversityAndInclusion

This seems to be what happens every day Not a visual trick A diverse reality of comprehending the same real world event The same ink lines - totally different interpretations It’s not the ink, it’s us

New #Spycops documentary on former Tory councillor Andy Coles. In early 90s he was a married 32 year old cop infiltrating animal rights campaigns when he exploited ‘Jessica’, then a teenage activist, for sex and cover. His actions were an abuse of power. bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0…
