ROSALÍA reveals the risks she took when creating “LUX” and admits there was concern about the album’s commercial potential: “Making an orchestral album might not guarantee instant success when you release it. There was no guarantee of a return on the investment for the whole team, but this was what I wanted to explore. For me, it’s very important to listen to whatever gives me that feeling of ‘Yes, this is the path’. It’s always something very instinctive, intuitive, something that comes from the gut. I think there was this general feeling of panic because it was taking a long time and it might not have been obvious that there would be a hit. But in retrospect, you see that with ‘Berghain’… maybe nobody really believed in the song, but it ended up working. People reacted to the song, and that’s amazing. I think that’s the beauty of it, because you never know. You really never know. So the only thing you can do is be true to how you feel and trust your intuition. I don’t try to convince anyone. I don’t say anything, I just work. I go to the studio, I show up, I show up, I show up. And once I have the music, I share it, and that’s it. And if one day the charts don’t speak for me, that’s okay too.”
