Beijing is building AI “with Chinese characteristics.” Engineers in the free world, who’ve benefited from democracy, have a responsibility beyond making AI more capable and build it with the characteristics of a free society.

I agree with Victor Davis Hanson, who argued on my Fox show that we should support an Iranian government in exile with Prince Reza Pahlavi as its leader. And if the Iranian regime collapses, he would be a temporary leader during a transition period.

They finally said it! @VDHanson tells @marklevinshow we should bring in @PahlaviReza and declare an Iranian Government in exile and to deal with them and ignore the extremists totally while we finish depleting their power. Levin agrees it’s a “great idea.” 💡

Nearly 4 years ago I met @PahlaviReza. I have worked for two Prime Ministers and two UN Secretary Generals. I can say with certainty he is the real deal. An outstanding leader with vision and conviction. A leader who believes in service to a higher goal. He said in our first meeting change would come from the people of Iran. They would bring this regime down. This has always been his focus. On January 8 and 9th when tens of millions rose up in 31 provinces in response to his call he unequivocally illustrated his mass support. He is the leader who unite’s the opposition, left and right, monarchist and republican and all tribal and religious groups. He is the leader the army will follow. He has a plan to bring this regime down and a plan for the future. It is time for the world to support him and through him back the people of Iran. There will be no peace without regime change. It is an illusion. Stand with the people of Iran.

For those gorging on free or cheaper Chinese AI models, be careful. Don’t you understand that Chinese companies will raise their prices or restrict their models? Don’t you understand that it will be very complicated and expensive to replace your Chinese AI model when this happens? Don’t you think this is by design? Don’t you understand Beijing did took similar steps with solar panels, telecom and equipment, and critical minerals?

We have information that Moonshot AI distilled Anthropic’s Fable for the development of its K3 model.
To do this they developed a sophisticated internal platform to conduct large scale distillation against U.S. models, allowing them to quickly switch between multiple methods of access to avoid detection. Moonshot AI has also acquired GB300-equipped servers and has accessed GB300s in Thailand, likely to train its AI models.
The United States strongly supports the free and fair development of AI, including a thriving competitive ecosystem that spans frontier models, specialized systems, open-source frameworks, and open-weight models. Legitimate AI distillation used to create smaller, more efficient models plays a vital role in this open innovation ecosystem. However, large-scale, covert industrial distillation aimed at stealing proprietary U.S. technology and undermining American research is unacceptable.

For those hopeful that normal diplomacy can resolve this: look at what Iran actually did the last time an American president extended his hand. President Biden reopened negotiations in Vienna, offered sanctions relief, and relaxed existing sanctions, and during those very years, Iran was tunneling deeper into Pickaxe Mountain to build its most fortified, bomb-proof nuclear facility yet, while enriching to 60% and locking inspectors out.
Excavation at Pickaxe began in fall 2020, but the years of fortification, tunneling 80–100+ meters under solid granite, deeper than Fordow, ran straight through President Biden’s term. That is precisely when Biden reopened indirect talks in Vienna in April 2021 and dangled sanctions relief to revive the deal.

If that meeting happens this week or next week, knowing that Hezbollah and the IRGC will no longer be getting oil from Venezuela following Maduro’s capture thanks to President Trump, @PeteHegseth, @SecRubio, and also to @netanyahu knowing that Israel provided intel to take out Hezbollah targets in Venezuela, it’s game over for the Supreme Leader of Iran and the Mullahs.
The Iranian regime will soon face a funding shortage for their Islamic regime with the sanctioned oil being cut off, and the people of Iran have never had a better opportunity for their internal regime change than now.
