Our left wing is practically dead. There’s no penetration, no threat, and no one stretching the opposition’s defensive line from that side. We signed Gordon to take some of the pressure off Lamine Yamal and create more space for him on the right. But that’s simply not happening. Every time Gordon receives the ball, he plays it backwards instead of taking on his man or driving forward. Honestly, Cancelo offers more attacking threat in that position than Gordon right now. This is exactly why Lamine keeps facing 2 or 3 defenders every time he receives the ball. With no threat coming from the left, the opposition can focus its defensive efforts on stopping Lamine without worrying about the other flank. We need someone who can take on defenders, attack the space and stretch the opposition’s back line to give Lamine more freedom on the right.
