Trade agreements don’t create opportunities. Businesses do.
But the right agreement can accelerate growth.
Six years after EVFTA took effect, Vietnam–EU trade continues to reach new milestones.
Here’s why investors should pay attention. 🧵↓
As Vietnam moves toward advanced manufacturing, green energy and digital infrastructure, agreements like EVFTA become strategic enablers—not just trade tools.
The biggest opportunity isn’t simply exporting to Europe.
It’s building higher-value products, stronger industrial capabilities and globally competitive supply chains in Vietnam.
According to EuroCham’s Business Confidence Index:
• 50% of businesses engaged in EU–Vietnam trade report directly benefiting from EVFTA.
• 66% of beneficiaries report measurable cost savings. EVFTA_1785664192.pdf
EVFTA isn’t just reducing tariffs.
It is encouraging companies to expand supply chains, strengthen partnerships and invest for the long term in Vietnam. EVFTA_1785664192.pdf
In the first half of 2026:
• Bilateral trade reached US$41.4 billion.
• Vietnam exported US$31.8 billion to the EU.
• EU exports to Vietnam totaled US$9.7 billion. EVFTA_1785664192.pdf
Since EVFTA entered into force in August 2020:
• Vietnam–EU cumulative trade has surpassed US$900 billion.
• US$383.8 billion was generated during the EVFTA period alone.
