I keep seeing things about the iPhone Duo and hearing that the buttons move to the right side of the screen so they're easier to reach. Well, I'm left-handed, so it's probably the opposite for left-handed people, then? They made it a lot worse. 😄 Anyone know anything about that?

Stoked for this!
AI agents produce plenty of performance ideas but deciding which are actually worth shipping is a completely separate problem. @yomieluwande is a Senior Product Engineer at Dash0 building observability products and developer tools, focused on data visualization and frontend performance. He'll walk through 66 agent-proposed optimizations narrowed by measurement down to a single PR - cutting renders from ~21ms to 6ms - and why the more obvious ideas didn't survive.

Hamburg last week. Montreal this week. Booth number two of September is underway, with Matt, Troy, Thor, Reece, Tommy, and Brennan for RustConf. Booth T6 is where you’ll find us over the next couple of days. Come by, show us what’s giving you trouble, and we’ll show you how we’d approach it in #Dash0. See you there. 👋

Today is another big day for @dash0hq. We're welcoming @PolarSignalsIO to the team. Polar Signals has built the leading continuous profiler for cloud-native workloads, including GPU and CUDA support, and created Parca, the open source continuous profiling project. Together, we're bringing continuous profiling natively into Dash0. That means profiling won't live in a separate tool; it’ll sit alongside traces, metrics and logs in the same OpenTelemetry-native platform, unifying the data and giving engineers a much deeper understanding of what's happening inside their applications. We've shared more about why we made this move in the comments.

Today is a big day! The last 5+ years at @PolarSignalsIO have been incredible! I couldn't be more excited to be part of what's next for @dash0hq Observability!
🚀 Polar Signals is Joining Dash0! 🧊

Little experiment: Make percent in @PyrraSLO responsive to show as many decimal places as possible. Trailing .000 are trimmed and decimal places are only rounded if not enough space is left.

Super fun to see all sorts of things with. Like, you can see a @PrometheusIO rule evaluation followed by GC and other interesting things.
🔥Flame charts are now GA for all CPU profiles on Polar Signals Cloud. X-axis = wall-clock time, so periodic GC, phase shifts, and lock contention show up as patterns instead of getting averaged out. polarsignals.com/blog/posts/…

You bring Fable 5 and @PolarSignalsIO brings you the continuous profiles for your production environment via MCP. The combination has found so many wild combinations before! 🔥
Replying to @rauchg @tobi
This is pretty how I optimize code these days. “Hey fable, use a dynamic workflow to get p95 time down under 300ms. Dont stop till you’re done, use a profiler”

The Polar Signals profiler got a major upgrade. New dashboard, and everything is faster and smoother 🚀 We can’t wait for you to try it out! Here's what's new and how we did it: polarsignals.com/blog/posts/…

Working at Polar Signals, I come at things with a performance mindset. Running evals on our MCP turned out to be exactly that: performance engineering but for the model's context. Measuring the profiling skill's efficiency and effectiveness has been fun these past weeks. 😎

Ever wondered how a profiler knows which JavaScript function is hot when V8 compiles your code three different ways? We went deep on unwinding and symbolizing V8 stacks across Sparkplug, Maglev, and TurboFan. The detective work behind every flame graph. polarsignals.com/blog/posts/…

Today we're launching the missing piece for GPU profiling in open source. The team has really outdone themselves in this one!
Launching today: GPU PC sampling in production. Instruction-level profiling telling you why and where warps stall. Whether it is memory latency, scoreboard waits, or barriers. 🚀 Previously NSight-only territory. Now running in prod with low overhead. polarsignals.com/blog/posts/…

Always happy to see design projects we’ve been working on go live. Enjoy the new brand look for @PolarSignalsIO Over the last few months, we worked on the company’s brand refresh, designed and developed the new website, built multiple apps to speed up brand graphic creation, produced a product explainer reel for the hero section, and created an extensive branding system so every asset feels consistent while still being unique to the brand. Polar Signals wanted to preserve parts of their existing visual identity, especially the original colors and gradients. We used that as a starting point, then refined the color system, created new gradient combinations, and modernized the overall look while keeping a clear connection to the brand’s legacy. We also came up with the new typography and grid system, and blended different visual styles so the brand could support a technical, information-heavy product while still feeling polished, clear, and professional. Proud of how the system came together. Stay tuned for some behind-the-scenes materials from the project.

We've been working on a major schema migration at @PolarSignalsIO that has unlocked some pretty wild improvements. Apart from a 50% (!!) reduction in storage size thanks to logical compression in @vortexdotdev, there has been a dramatic improvement in query performance.

Tired of Node.js flamecharts full of `a`, `m`, and `_0x3f2`? We just shipped source maps support for Node.js profiles in Polar Signals Cloud. Just add a plugin to your build pipeline, and your profiles show the real code. Know more: polarsignals.com/blog/posts/…
