Check out my footage of the multi-vortex tornado in southwest OK last week. Probably the most incredible thing I've ever witnessed... (w/ @alec_prosser, @Metr_Mike, @JonahPehl, and @emilyblumenauer) #okwx youtu.be/59YvWrykcG8?si=BLrI…… via @YouTube

Fortunate to have the opportunity to experience totality. Although only somewhat captured here, it was fascinating watching the effects of the eclipse on the cumulus field.

Excited to announce that my first paper is accepted and now available! We looked at the evolution of an SVC-like feature in a tornadic supercell in NE Louisiana using combined air and ground multi-radar analyses and the DLA thermodynamic retrieval, (1/3) doi.org/10.1175/MWR-D-22-031…

(2/3) including an analysis of SVC-bound trajectories which compared the contributions of baroclinic and barotropic sources of streamwise vorticity generation (as well as showed that these SVC trajectories did not approach the tornado-cyclone during or after tornadogenesis).

Hopefully 3rd time really is the charm because I cannot keep putting everything on hold to keep completely re-doing my entire master's project every couple of months like this

@UofOklahoma Can you all PLEASE organize some type of response for all the students that were impacted by last night’s storms? ‘Not on campus, not our problem’ would be a bad route to take, but that’s how it looks right now

Loved hearing a senior faculty of the department I'm in belittle myself and my colleagues for 15 minutes

Sneak peak at my #AMS2023 poster 👀 If you want to see what the sources of vorticity are for this Louisiana supercell's tornado-cyclone (and don't want to wait the many months it'll take me to get this paper completed) check out poster # 127 at 5pm MST on Monday!

Does anyone know of a paper or other official source that talks about how drylines are a good boundary for initiating isolated storms/supercells? I've seen it discussed a lot in blogs and media, but I'm looking for a citeable study #wxtwitter

And @del_cross_u got 1st in her category (and without tearing the skin open on all of her fingertips!!!)

A sneak peak at results in my presentation at #30SLS tomorrow (16.2A) 👀 I'm looking forward to sharing these high resolution observations of a southeast US supercell with the SLS community! (and hopefully soon to be submitted for formal publication!)

It was an incredible experience to be able to participate in @TORUSupercell these past ~5 weeks. I'm looking forward to seeing the insights we're able to gain from all the data we collected!

Oh hey I recognize that view 👀
NSSL scientists are wrapping up @TORUSupercell field operations in the Plains today. Collecting observations using a variety of platforms helps us learn more about #thunderstorm behavior and #tornado development. Visit nssl.noaa.gov/projects/torus… to learn more! @NOAA @NSF

After 2+ months of thesis grinding, it's nice to have the time and mental capacity to try out new recipies (ft. cheesy squash casserole from an eccentric guy on the internet)

My first attempt at tempering chocolate for some chocolate covered peanuts. Still gotta work on my technique and peanut-to-chocolate ratio but there's still no chance there'll still be any left by tomorrow
