Dylan DeMelo drove the Jets' rout of the Canucks: a 9.3 Game Grade on two assists and an 8-2 edge in chances from in close with him on the ice. Logan Cooley (9.0) of the Mammoth and Pavel Mintyukov (9.0) of the Ducks lit the twine. Every player, every game, graded.
Nick Suzuki returned from injury with a goal and two helpers, and he led all Canadiens forwards in ice time. Cole Caufield ended it in overtime as Montreal beat Utah 5-4.
Draisaitl fired six shots and beat the goalie late in the third, but Anaheim held on for a 5-4 win in Edmonton. He also committed three giveaways, and the Oilers still lost the game.
Evan Bouchard scored a power-play goal just before the first intermission and added an assist, but Edmonton fell 5-4 to Anaheim at home. The Oilers, who sit atop the Pacific at 11-3-3, have now dropped their latest game.
Erik Cernak set up two goals in 16:05 of ice time as Tampa Bay beat Chicago 4-1 at Amalie Arena. The Lightning took care of business at home, and the Blackhawks left with plenty of work ahead.
Columbus has won just once on the road, while Buffalo has scored little at home. Both teams have allowed more expected goals than they've created over their last ten games, so the team that tightens its own end likely takes this wildcard fight.
Annunen was the story in Denver. He stopped 30 of 32 shots while Colorado controlled 60.2% of the shot attempts, and Nashville still walked away with the overtime win.
Scheifele's second-period goal and assist helped Winnipeg beat Vancouver 6-2 at home, a comfortable win that finished with him at plus 2. He has mostly been a setup man this year, with 13 assists, so finding the back of the net stood out.
Pastrnak didn't score in Boston's 6-2 win at Pittsburgh, but he still set up two goals and was on the ice for 20:23 of play. The Bruins didn't need him to finish; they needed him to keep the offense moving, and he did.
Connor went scoreless but still set up two goals, and the Jets cruised to a 6-2 win over Vancouver. Winnipeg follows its Montreal comeback with another easy night at home.
Dylan DeMelo didn't score, but he still had a hand in the offence. Two assists, both at even strength, helped the Jets beat the Canucks 6-2 at home. A quiet night that still made an impact.
Boston's 6-2 win in Pittsburgh was closer to a coin flip than the score suggests, with both teams matching each other chance for chance. Silovs had a night to forget, and the Penguins rang iron more than once.
Rangers 3.7 expected goals against Philadelphia's 2.6 says a 3-2 win was earned, not lucky. New York's chances were simply better all night, and Garand held the door when the Flyers pushed back.
Winnipeg won 6-2, but the expected-goals edge was only 3.1 to 1.8, so the real story was Vancouver's goaltending letting the scoreboard run away. Merilainen had a rough night in the crease, and the Jets took full advantage of it.
With 4:17 left in the third, the Stars lead 1-0 and DeSmith has been the reason it's still that close. Rantanen's goal is the only one on the board, and Columbus keeps probing for a way past him.
