Forcing American farmers and ranchers into a 24/7 trading model that fails to serve their needs is not the answer.
The @CFTC will reject one-size-fits-all regulation and stand firmly behind the producers who depend on these markets to manage risk. Watch:

The @CFTC’s responsibility is to the American people, not the party in control of Congress.
Our mission transcends party lines, and my commitment to protecting market integrity and maintaining well-functioning markets will not change with the political majority. @BloombergTV @tylerskendall

Crypto markets deserve the same time-tested protections that have governed America’s derivatives markets for generations.
While Congress has yet to act, the @CFTC is advancing a voluntary federal registration pathway for crypto exchanges, bringing them closer to the gold standard of American market oversight. @BloombergTV @tylerskendall

I’m pleased the @CFTC and @NBA have signed an MOU continuing the Commission’s commitment to increasing data sharing between the agency and professional sports leagues. The NBA joins the @MLB and @NHL in taking a responsible step toward protecting sports integrity and market participants from abuses in prediction markets like insider trading and fraud.
I thank NBA Commissioner Adam Silver for putting the integrity of professional basketball and America’s financial markets first and for working with the agency on this MOU.

I've spent this year traveling across the country, getting out into the heartland, and hearing directly from the farmers and ranchers who work tirelessly to feed, fuel, and clothe America.
Agriculture is at the foundation of the @CFTC's mission, and under my leadership, we will continue listening to those who depend on our markets and putting their needs at the forefront of our work.

Unlike casino-style gambling, @CFTC-regulated prediction markets operate under a federal regulatory system designed to protect market integrity and prevent manipulation.
Conflating the two ignores the fundamental distinction between gambling and regulated financial markets. @BloombergTV @tylerskendall

Market manipulation has no place in CFTC-regulated markets.
With the midterm elections approaching, the @CFTC is closely monitoring prediction markets for attempts to distort trading activity or manipulate outcomes.
Let me be clear: Those who manipulate our markets will be held accountable. @BloombergTV @tylerskendall

It was a pleasure visiting our Kansas City office and thanking the talented team whose work help uphold the gold standard of market integrity.

Prediction markets offer Americans a new way to gauge what’s happening in the world, and as they grow, so does the need for federal oversight.
At the @CFTC, we are closely monitoring trading activity to uphold the gold standard of market integrity. Watch more on @clayandbuck:

For too long, regulators drove good actors offshore while bad actors like Sam Bankman-Fried defrauded American investors.
Those priorities were backwards. In this era at the @CFTC, we are putting market integrity first, pursuing fraudsters and allowing legitimate innovation to thrive on American soil. @clayandbuck

America cannot lead on the new frontier of finance with outdated and anachronistic regulations that force economic activity offshore.
That’s why the @CFTC proposed a pathway for crypto exchanges to opt in to a federal regulatory framework designed for national markets, with robust customer protections and clear rules for margin trading. @Bankless

For too long, the @CFTC and @SECGov were locked in regulatory turf battles, unable to even agree on who regulates what.
Those days are over. @SECPaulSAtkins and I are turning the page on jurisdictional disputes and bringing long-overdue clarity to American markets. More on @Bankless:

The fight for onion futures continues today in Chicago.
For those wondering how we got here, Congress banned onion futures in 1958 following market manipulation. Decades later, Hollywood successfully pushed to add a prohibition on box office event contracts.
Apparently, this debate still has a few layers left to peel back. Watch:

Regulatory certainty in crypto markets shouldn’t come with an expiration date.
I’m committed to working across the aisle to establish clear, durable rules of the road that provide lasting regulatory certainty and stand the test of time. More on @Bankless:
