This advice is aimed at young creatives in the tv/film industry, but it interestingly applies to academia as well. I tell graduate students all the time: do not rush. It may not feel like it, but you’re in the best, most liberating part of the journey.

I don't know who created the 40 hour week or the 8 hour per day, but there is no way my brain can concentrate for 8 hours per day.
Be happy if I can get a solid 5-6 hours of work every day.
My results speak for myself. I get things done, regardless of how long it takes me.

It’s a lie.
Own the decisions you make. Choose to rest. Love people hard. Rest in the core of who you were created to be.
