The Land Based Casinos: Beyond Gaming programme has entered its primary research stage, and we need your voice in it. Running until the 6th October, this survey will build a credible evidence base around the sector's wider contribution, from employment and investment to hospitality, visitor activity and local economies. With 108 licensed casinos, 14,000 direct and indirect jobs, nearly 14 million annual visits and £815m in GVA already at stake, the findings will directly shape the sector's political and stakeholder engagement. Take the survey now and help strengthen the case for Britain's land-based casinos. Click the link to take the survey : buff.ly/8gCejS7 #NTIA #NightTimeEconomy #NTE #Hospitality #UKCulture

Just watched the speech in full. One of the best, and most powerfully delivered, by a British politician in a very long time. If he can deliver on his passion and promises, Burnham could be a transformative Prime Minister. But it’s a big ‘if’ …
I will build the Britain my dad wanted to see.

Before entering No.10, @andyburnham argued that hospitality VAT should be closer to the lower rates used across much of Europe. He was right: hospitality policy is high-street policy. Now that recognition needs to become action. #VATsTheProblem @andyjlennox @UKHospKate

I actually have a lot to say, but unlike others this week, I’m keeping it professional mate. I know who are in the room and who pretend to be in the room.

And we also need to implement @libdemdaisy's plan to cut VAT for hospitality.
My thoughts on the Chancellor's speech this morning. We need a far more radical vision to unleash growth, including a new Growth and Defence Partnership with Europe to supercharge our economy.

As a 45 yr old man, I feel sorry for the kids coming up. I feel sorry for people new to London who are experiencing this diluted, watered down version of night life. London nightlife used to be amazing. God speed on trying to save it.

I absolutely welcome @andyburnham introducing new powers to clean up the High Street of unwelcome shops. To go further, would be to further support independent Hospitality venues. The biggest mechanism, would be to reduce Vat and bring it in line with the rest of Europe.

In a busy week that saw the former Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, become Prime Minister, it was a pleasure to pause for a fantastic afternoon at the exceptional RAF Club, London, with our Institute of Hospitality partners, @Sacha_Lord FIH and @MickKill FIH, planning for an exciting future and the opportunities ahead. A particular thank you to RAF Club CEO, Miles Pooley FIH, for his generous hospitality and for a fascinating tour of one of London's finest heritage venues. Definitely an afternoon well spent. #StrongerTogether #HospitalityFamily #imin

Finally, we have a PM who listens and cares about Hospitality. Today, @andyburnham has announced a further 20% cut in Business Rates for pubs, clubs and live music venues. This will help 32,000 venues across the UK and save an average pub £1,100 a year.

This is, in part, a “thank you” to Sacha Lord. The Chair of the Night Time Industries Association campaigned for the new PM from before he stood in Makerfield and was a close adviser when Andy Burnham was GM Mayor. @BBCNWT bbc.co.uk/news/live/cdewkelw…

Music doesn’t start on the main stage, it starts in grassroots venues, late-night clubs, independent festivals and the communities backing talent long before the headlines. It’s encouraging to see the Government’s new music strategy recognise that every part of the ecosystem matters, from artists and DJs to promoters, producers, venues and the independent businesses keeping the industry moving. This is a positive step, but the work isn’t over. Long-term support for grassroots spaces, sustainable venues, and the people behind the scenes will be what keeps the UK’s music and night-time economy thriving for years to come. Read the full article and see what the new strategy could mean for the future of the industry.🔗 ntia.co.uk/ntia-encouraged-b…

135dB. That’s the same kind of noise level as a jet taking off. And that’s exactly what England fans hit as Harry Kane’s goals sent pubs and fan zones into absolute chaos. The atmosphere is what makes live sport unforgettable. It’s the roar after a goal, the chants, the shared moments with complete strangers that turn into lifelong memories. But while we celebrate creating incredible experiences across pubs, bars, fan parks and venues, it’s worth remembering that repeated exposure to this level of noise can have a lasting impact on hearing. That’s why NTIA’s Listen For Life campaign, in partnership with Specsavers, is encouraging fans and the wider hospitality community to think about hearing health without compromising the experience. Protecting your hearing doesn’t mean turning the volume down, it means making sure you can keep enjoying every goal, every gig and every unforgettable night for years to come. The best memories should last. So should your hearing. Read more here: buff.ly/DZ68mcq #ListenForLife #NightTimeEconomy #Hospitality #LiveSport #HearingHealth #England

Great news for hospitality. Pubs and bars across England & Wales can stay open until 5am for England’s World Cup clash with Mexico. A pragmatic decision that removes red tape, supports operators and gives fans the chance to back the Three Lions together. 🍻 Support your local venue. 🏴 Come on England!
