Honestly, I wouldn’t do this deal.
Abreu is too erratic and after the misery of 2026, I’m tired of watching guys not throw strikes.
I think we’ve gotten everything we can ask for out of Bryan Abreu, including a World Series title.

Looks like it’s the end of the Jake Meyers era in Houston.
He looked like he was gonna be a star in 2021 until his injury in the ALDS. He never panned out after that. Had great range in CF, but also had a weak arm and a weak bat.

Sources: The #Astros are designating CF Jake Meyers for assignment, which will clear a 40-man roster spot as Meyers is due to come off the 60-day IL.

Nothing has been decided on the manager position yet.
And while Ausmus wouldn’t be my first choice, I wouldn’t put much stock into his track record with the Angels and Tigers (two awful franchises).

But this is what happens when you deploy this ABS system. The strikes that “miss” the zone by 0.2” are now overturned to balls.
It’s not the way baseball was meant to be played.
They need to actually spend money on starting pitching.
They’ve relied on damaged goods coming back from the IL in July/August for the last 3 years now. They’ve needed to re-tool the staff since 2023 ended.

I don’t think he gave Dana Brown much authority at all. That still doesn’t mean Dana was good at his job.

I was correct in picking the #Brewers, but wrong about the way the series played out.
I honestly thought it’d go 7 games, because the teams were so similar.
But ultimately, Milwaukee had a lineup full of actual hitters. Tampa Bay has one (maybe two) legit bats.

From 2017-2025, the #WorldSeries featured at least the #Astros or the #Dodgers every year, except for 2023.
They were overall the two best organizations in baseball during this span.
My #WorldSeries prediction:
Both these teams are very similar in their brand of baseball. Both have a beast of a pitching staff and they both can play small ball and steal bases.
I think Milwaukee takes it in 7 games.
