Celebrating JCP history/programming. No politics/nonsense. Occasionally exalts Sterling Marlin but its mostly old pro wrestling that helps you feel good again.

Looking through an old wrestling magazine and saw a PATRIOT comic that was amazing! Not only was it drawn by Jerry Lawler but it was set in Indianapolis and featured Sam Menacker and Baron Von Raschke!

Ok you won't believe this, but something bad happened. The actual World champions, Sgt Slaughter & Don Kernodle, came out alongside Greg Valentine for an promo. Next to Bob was little Tommy Peterson's drawing, Jay's headdress & Ricky's lei...

Young Tommy Peterson sent in a heartfelt drawing of Rick Steamboat & Jay Youngblood that reads "the uncrowned World tag team champions." In return the good guys give up their lei/headdress. Since its wrestling I'm sure nothing bad will happen

A highlight of my wrestling fandom was Ric Flair as the aspiring champion. The chase. He wasn't unbeatable but always gave 110%. It was a big deal here when he won the NWA title but those years chasing it were so much fun... Here in Toronto 1978-1981 many notable bouts vs Steamboat, Backlund, Bravo, Greg Valentine, Hossein the Arab, Tiger Jeet Singh, Snuka, Ray Stevens, Harley Race, and Roddy Piper...🙏 Toronto June 1981.

While not video, pretty cool how an unknown about Piper’s Pit can be found after over 40 years!

In 2000, I interviewed Terry Funk. The audio cassette from that conversation sat in a box for decades.
I've salvaged the audio, and made it available for the first time ever, right here: youtu.be/47fnu48uxS8

World champ Muhammad Ali clowns around with star wrestler "Classy" Freddie Blassie, circa 1976. Ali was a big fan of Blassie and other ringmen of the time, and in fact they inspired "The Greatest" to cultivate his own larger-than-life persona. #Heavyweight #History #Boxing

As much as I love the @WWE and @AEW and all the others out there doing there thing. It can never be this great. We believed this. I had watched Dusty and Ole hate for my entire childhood. And then on the Superstation bang. I wanted Ole dead!! Damn I miss the territories!
