A private prison company offered Minnesota an empty prison for 75 million dollars. The state said no. Then Trumpโs administration paid the same company almost 500 million for it.
The prison has sat empty in Appleton, Minnesota since 2010. Last year CoreCivic emailed the state and offered to sell it for 75 million, upgrades included. Minnesota passed. Fifteen months later, Homeland Security bought it for an ICE detention center at 495.6 million.
How could this be? You guessed it. CoreCivic gave half a million dollars to Trumpโs inaugural committee. And it still gets paid about 75 million a year to run the place.
Republicans love talking about fraud in Minnesota. JD Vance says his task force is all over it. So where are they on this one? I break it all down in todayโs show (link in reply).

The Poland situation follows a familiar pattern: social media amplifies a vocal minority, often using fabricated or recycled video, and suggests it is resurgent, has the moral high ground, and reflects the broad popular will. Except thatโs never the case.
This is part of a broader strategy to inflate extreme minorities into a โ50%โ equivalence with โthe other side.โ When in fact the heterodox position is held by a minority (10-30%) while the vast majority consensus rejects the minority view.
MAGA is having a meltdown over this factually correct article. One cure to the unfounded suspicions here would be to simply not announce partial counts. Just announce final results when they are done counting, or callable with certainty.
If you go to bed on election night and don't know who won a midterm congressional race, that's normal. And if you wake up the next morning and find that a candidate who was behind hours earlier has since pulled ahead, that's normal, too. (via @PolitiFact) to.pbs.org/4zqnWBa

Yes, the core statement is accurate. Close midterm races often remain unresolved on election night because of mail, provisional, and overseas ballots that require verification under varying state laws. Leads can and do shift as those ballots are counted, as seen in past cycles including 2018 Florida races and 2022 House control. Official results follow certification deadlines weeks later.

๐จ FBI confirms: North Korea was behind the biggest cryptocurrency theft in history
The FBI has officially blamed North Korean hackers from the TraderTraitor group for the Binance hack and the theft of $6.3 billion in cryptocurrency.
According to the FBI, the hackers have already begun converting the stolen assets into Ethereum and may use cryptocurrency exchanges to launder the funds. The agency has urged crypto platforms to block transactions linked to the hackers.
Donald Trump, however, questioned whether North Korea, led by his old buddy Kim Jong Un, was behind the attack.
โWe don't know. We're investigating it,โ Trump said.

So far, about $3 billion in stolen assets has been located. The exchange has provided no information on the whereabouts of the remaining $3.3 billion, Reuters reports.

The world's largest cryptocurrency exchange said it was working with partners to freeze the affected assets.
According to preliminary reports, hackers may have gained access by compromising one of the engineers' laptops.
