Ocarina of Time remake nearly had fast travel, but Nintendo removed it. Eiji Aonuma revealed that he asked devs to add fast-travel similar to Breath of the Wild, so players could move around Hyrule more quickly. But after trying it out, the team realised that fast travel made players miss small discoveries and interesting things along the way. “We were missing out on the moments of discovery that came from stopping along the way and wondering, ‘Wait, what’s this?’” He removed the feature because on-foot exploration is key to the original experience.
