A great tree has fallen. Baba Jakom Raila Odinga, the son from Bondo, the father of our democracy, and the man who shaped generations has rested. He gave his life to justice, peace, and the hope of a better Kenya. Rest in peace, Baba.

Dear @airfrance you are truly showing me the middle finger by telling me that because my flight didn’t originate and terminate in Europe, you will not compensate me even after cancellations of more than 24hours

Why should Kenyans be required to answer the question 'what next'? Are they the ones pilferaging public funds? Are they the ones killing protesters? Have you asked any member of the political elite the same question? Have you asked them why they are refusing to be accountable?

Since JUNE 18th, we have been documenting as history unfolds right before our eyes. This death toll tells us something about our country and the state of our democracy. Staggering.

Bishop Allan Kiuna of JCC, who last year had spent ksh 460 million to beat cancer, has now passed on. Any ordinary Kenyan would be dead in no time if they were in the same situation. Cancer treatment should be heavily subsidized if not free.

• enda tutaua wengine wengi • FULL CLIP For context, a couple of minutes before, I’d seen a cop hurl teargas into the Holy Family Basilica parking lot where the medics had set up their tent. Did not make sense to me because I could see protestors at the exit gate of the church, so ideally that tear gas should have been lobbed at them. But this was almost directly towards the tent. I tried making my way round to go see what was happening there, and I saw her coming out of the gate, coughing, headed straight at the cops. Intuition screamed to follow her…and my heart broke with every second of this dialogue. ⚕️♥️🇰🇪💔
