BREAKING NEWS 🔥Today, at 2pm in Westminster, I address the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Loan Charge and Tax Payer Fairness as I hold a deeply distressing national distinction: I am the first known British citizen to be wrongly named and shamed by HMRC on their public list of deliberate tax defaulters - to the tune of £132,711.25. Today, I will give witness testimony on HMRC's toxic culture and the need for major reform. After the event, I will post my speech on my website thechangepress.com #memoir #taxpayerbillofrights #ginoscontraband @journomadeleine @jeffprestridge @willydunn @taxwatch @TheTaxcast @LCAG_2019 @loanchargeAPPG @crimlawuk @TaxReformUK @thelawyermag

The man is everything we DO NOT WANT in an MP! Mel Stride is rotten to the core! Responsible for pushing thro failed #loancharge policy. A retrospective tax that has caused 10 suicides, failed to enter into discussions to resolve & blocked anyone who mentioned it. Mr Misleader
Yesterday, I spoke to @JeremyKyleLive about my support for @MelJStride to be the next leader of the @Conservatives.
We need more wisdom and less populism in our politics - Mel will deliver this and rebuild trust in our party. 👇

The #LoanCharge has been linked with 10 suicides. The @yorkshirepost has been campaigning for its repeal since 2019. From the archive, here's a brilliant commentary from @JayMitchinson about the horrific impact of this terrible policy.

After much soul-searching I've decided I WILL be staying on 'X'. There are so many brave, decent, compassionate people on this platform (notably those affected by #loancharge #mortgageprisoners #excludeduk). So I will keep engaging with all of you and posting on here. X

One of the main reasons I've stayed on this platform is to campaign relentlessly on behalf of victims of #loancharge and #mortgageprisoners, who have much in common. In both cases, the Government is being presented with constructive proposals from experts to ease their suffering.
“My life since 2007 has been horrendous." "We face the prospect of being evicted from our home of 27 years."
My analysis for @yorkshirepost of the living hell of being a #mortgageprisoner. Please do #buypaper or subscribe today. @mortgageprison

I'm so sorry to hear this. This saga continues to cause 'serious distress'.
Just received an S.684 from HMRC after 10 years for years 2010/11.
I had managed to get myself off the anti depressants but this letter has put be over the edge again. No right of appeal either. #LoanChargeScandal #depression #bankruptcy

Morse (in 2019) said in Government-approved statement: “I’m pleased to see Government commit to act on the recommendations of my review, bringing the #LoanCharge back into line with the wider tax system."
Govt statement about Morse review(Dec 2019): "The #LoanCharge should not apply to loans made before 9th December 2010, reflecting the earliest point at which the legal position on loan schemes was made clear and bringing the look back period into line with other UK tax policy."

No problem - Honestly, sometimes I wonder what goes through peoples heads! Apart from the total & utter disrespect for the families ...If you don't know what you are talking about, don't comment! 10 suicides over ANY Government Policy shows something is wrong with the policy!

I was withdrawn from the settlement offer then given 17 years ttp to pay off the loan charge - no settlement - this year I will pay £6000 off the alleged debt - HMRC have already charged me £8000 late payment interest - basically, I’m a cash cow for HMRC #LoanChargeScandal
