Anthropic S-1 did not disappoint: TL;DR - exponential growth or they die. -$518B in reported compute commitments, ~80% payable whether used or not (whoa) -$132B cash -$81B H1 net loss, mostly noncash. Adjusted operating margin actually +10% -Explicit warnings about AI resisting shutdown, blackmail, and human extinction -Founders retain 50.1% voting control Now I'm focused on the compute payment schedule and insider unlock dates. $518B of commitments against $132B cash = goblin mode.
S1s always contain unleaked bangers. Look out for: -goblin mode compute commitments -p(doom) risks -“community adjusted EBITDA” -forward financing needs that far exceed available capital -unlock dates (CA real estate trade)

Being a fan of Asian gaming is awesome - Phantom Blade Zero this upcoming week - FF Resonance last week - Crimson Desert DLC this upcoming week - Capcom has been kicking ass all year-long (RER, Pragmata, Onimusha, MHS3, DD2DA) - Fire Emblem FW last month, Zelda OOT next month etc etc Meanwhile, Western gaming fans: - Defending Bungie and coping about Marathon - Crying about the death of Bioware - Endless suffering about 343 and Halo - Coping about studios closing and endless layoffs - Acting like you love your goyslop with ugly ass females - Convincing the entire internet that the games that flopped were "not woke actually" and the successful games were "woke actually" lmao - Crying about corporations and the industry being in such a "rough spot"

something i didn't expect: AI made me more patient with people. once you get used to explaining clearly to a machine, you notice how often you were unclear with humans too

"over 1,000 medieval scribes have joined the Association for Human Manuscripts, pledging to never use the printing press or work with Gutenberg 654 have gone even further, promising to never read a printed book"
Wow, over 1,000 mathematicians have now joined the Association for Human Mathematics (AHM), committing to: > NOT publish AI generated math papers > NOT work with frontier labs > 654 of them went even further to NOT even use AI in their research, at all

I am okay with Kimi 3.1 deliberately leaving out top-end offensive cyber capabilities from their training data. Discriminating against use cases is MUCH less bad than discriminating against users. And the world does need all the time it can get to prepare, harden, check old code, (properly) formally verify new code, etc before the full weight of very powerful cyber attacks is upon us. And if this first big wave of AI risk is not handled well, then we may well get a dystopia of highly locked down models, KYC gating on everything, highly intrusive surveillance on everything, a society where you may be a second or third or fourth-class citizen in terms of model access based on your credentials and nationality.

there's a humbling moment when you realize AI is only as good as your explanation. it forces you to understand your own idea. a lot of people discover their idea was vague the first time they try to explain it

not only am i not worried about the crypto community's ability to handle the upcoming ai/quantum threat, i will venture to say that in the next 2 yrs the world will realize crypto is far better prepared for it than the rest of the internet and finance. we've had a trillion dollar *irreversible* honey pot for a decade, producing a far more battletested system and adversarial security culture than pretty much anywhere else on earth.

The anti-AI hysteria on Threads is so unproductive. Nearly 1M views and 100K likes on a video urging everyone to use a font that "poisons" LLMs. Meanwhile, today's scrapers easily evade this - and it makes your content unreadable to humans using accessibility tools 🫠
Replying to @udiWertheimer
I’m getting genuinely concerned with the rhetoric around AI on Threads. They’re whipping themselves into a frenzy in a way that’s totally unproductive and seems mentally damaging. And yet these posts get thousands of comments from people telling her to “keep fighting AI.”

I’m hoping we look back on this era of performative crying on social media and wonder what the hell we were doing letting clearly mentally ill people influence politics
