I’m running for OK Labor Commissioner because I’ve identified key statute & policy fixes that will directly help our workers and small businesses.
My vision? Make Oklahoma one of the FREEST & most prosperous states in the nation.
Vote Mike Hall for real freedom! 🇱🇷 #OKpol
What role should the Labor Commissioner play in helping the state recruit large manufacturing or tech companies to Oklahoma? The best way to recruit companies isn't to give special tax breaks to giant corporations while bleeding our local small businesses dry. That's cronyism. My role is to advocate for a flat, fair playing field. If we cut taxes, reduce regulatory friction, and protect individual liberties, companies will flock to our state. We don't need to bribe them with taxpayer money. We just need to make Oklahoma the freest state in the country to do business.
Oklahoma deserves leadership focused on results, not party alignment.
As an independent-minded candidate, I answer only to Oklahomans. I'll partner with anyone to advance real economic freedom, protect worker rights, and eliminate costly bureaucracy.
How can the Department of Labor stop the out-of-state 'brain drain'?
You don't stop people from leaving by passing more regulations or creating some government committee to study the problem. Young, ambitious people want opportunity, and opportunity goes where capital is free to build. If we want our brightest minds to stay in our state, we have to make Oklahoma an economic launchpad. That means tearing down the barriers that make it hard to start a business, lowering taxes so people can actually keep more of their paycheck, and creating an environment where a 20-year-old can take a big risk and build a life without being crushed by bureaucratic compliance.
AI Concerns: History is full of people trying to ban the new machine to save the old job. When automobiles came along, the blacksmiths and carriagemakers were worried. But economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out that technology doesn't destroy work; it shifts it to where it's more productive. If we try to regulate or stall AI in Oklahoma, we won't stop technological progress—we'll just make our businesses uncompetitive, and then the jobs will really disappear. The state's role isn't to protect yesterday’s methods from tomorrow's ideas. It’s to keep the market free so that as technology advances, new and better-paying industries can sprout up right here at home.
Transparency in state government:
Under the Oklahoma Open Records Act, government records belong to the people, not state bureaucrats. By modernizing digital records and establishing clear internal deadlines at the Department of Labor, we will make sure business owners, workers, and taxpayers can instantly see how their tax dollars are being spent and how administrative rules are being applied. Sunlight is the best cure for bureaucratic overreach.
Under Oklahoma law, specifically Title 15, non-compete agreements are already void and illegal. The statute already recognizes that once an employment relationship ends, you own your own mind, skills, and right to work. The real problem isn't our state law in this case; it's that large multi-state corporations sometimes force local workers to sign template non-compete agreements anyway, using out of state legal tricks and threat of lawsuits to scare Oklahomans into staying locked down. While I will always protect legitimate property rights like trade secrets, as Labor Commissioner I will aggressively target any employer who uses illegal non-compete threats to freeze earned wages or scare Oklahoma workers out of taking a better job.
As a 3rd party candidate, I answer to Oklahomans, not party bosses. As Labor Commissioner, I will evaluate policy on its merits, working with both Rs and Ds whenever a proposal protects individual rights, grows economic freedom, and cuts red tape. No partisan games, no ties to special interest groups - just practical results for working Oklahomans.
Here is what I am for: A responsible, limited government, and maximum individual responsibility. This would result in the most possible freedom we could have.
Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day. I hope we honor the rich histories, cultures, and enduring contributions of Native communities across our nation.

The choice for more liberty and less bureaucracy in Oklahoma’s state government can be achieved by voting for me.
What does “liberty” mean to you?
We see symbols like the Statue of Liberty all the time, but how often do we stop to reflect on what they actually represent?
To me, liberty means the freedom to live your life on your own terms, make your own economic choices, and speak freely without being told what to do by the state.
Your ballot isn't a sports team jersey.
Running for OK Labor Commissioner as a Libertarian, I’m asking you to vote FOR your values—freer markets, lower bureaucracy, and true individual liberty.
Voting your principles is never a wasted vote.
If you want to learn more about changes I would make if elected, I answered all 8 questions at the bottom of my profile at okievote.com/candidates/mike…
My Plan, Part Two if elected (still not in order):
4. Strictly limit Wage & Hour mandates to contract enforcement. 5. Require due process and independent warrants for subpoenas. 6. Expand youth apprenticeships and skilled trades programs.
