Yeah it was mostly on the boat and then Jason took Vancouver, but at face value, this is one of the most fun movies of the series.
And this opening credits sequence is terrific.
Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)
Say what you want about this movie, but that opening with Metropolis playing "The Darkest Side of the Night" was incredible.
The New York skyline, the streets at night, that late-'80s atmosphere. They made Jason's trip to Manhattan feel like the biggest event in horror.
Then we spent most of the movie on a boat.
Still one of the best openings in the franchise.
