I think today was a historic moment for online media. Establismnent media insisted that an ad that was about Israel was antisemitic and needed to be condemned. Almost all of online media, left, right and center got together to say - no, it wasn't! I think @AbdulElSayed saw that and refused to condemn it!
In the old days, the bad guys on cable news would have won and smeared us all. But now, powered by a unified online community, we beat them back and won the day! Love you guys!

The ad is enormously popular. It tested through the roof. The only people who don’t like it (and lie about it) are Washington insiders in politics and media.

Artists, authors, and creators are being ripped off by massive, billion-dollar companies like Open AI. This theft of proprietary information is plainly illegal, and it will devastate the American industries built upon expertise and creativity. Trump’s DOJ is out of line in its attempt to intervene in this case, and it is badly misinformed about the purpose of copyright law and allowable exceptions for fair use. America can and should lead the world in artificial intelligence without building it on theft.

I will spare you 500 pages of pretentious incantatory dogshit but we are entering a time of radical transformation with no precedent and Will Manidis has zero insight as to what that world will look like

- Google stock is down because of AI answers
- Your web traffic is down because of AI answers
Happy to see that worked out well for all parties involved
“Law enforcement” brother you guys didn’t want laws 🤣🤣🤣
Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified.
The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far.
Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete.
As an immediate precaution, Binance has:
- temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed;
- revoked the affected address authorisation;
- engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds.
Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice.
Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions.

In so many ways agentic tools strike at the heart if the delicate balance that made platforms valuable to users; and the programmatic violation of those norms threatens to end social media altogether; weird the platforms dont take this more seriously
I'm fascinated by a weird ad for Muse @milkkarten spotted on Instgram, claiming it could help you see who unfollowed you. Which, it can, but that's a feature Instagram has repeatedly said it doesn't want users to have. (Meta has taken down the ad).
A curious tension here: AI agents and social media aren't necessarily playing nice. There's things Muse can do for users that is at the detriment to the health of the social platforms. So what balance does Meta strike to make sure the new shiny thing isn't cannibalizing the old profitable thing?

There are a shocking number of accounts on here with monkey jpegs and .eth screen names just botting around, hoping to be useful again someday
The number one meta-narrative about to emerge over the next several years is the extent to which human constraints produce value in select fields and activities - e.g. put simply as "it doesn't really exist as such unless a human can understand it or produce it on their own terms." This has been difficult to see in any real way prior to today, but after automated cognition and digital work, a new host of activities will re-emerge as demanding of human constraints. When I speak of "institutions" and their new form, I mainly am referring to this designation. Institutionalism will be the now-nameable space in between the full agentic optimization of cognitive and social labor.
