A6 Be present. Pay attention! Listen. Acknowledge. Express gratitude. We have so much to learn from each other. Stories are a great conduit to our shared, all-too-brief time here. Celebrate the stories that are shared with you. #MTtalk
Q6 How do you honor the stories that others share? #MTtalk

A6: One honours another’s story by listening intently, without interruption & without interjecting or responding with your own, and acknowledging (perhaps with empathy) what the other person has been relating.

A5: Holding on to a story unhealthily involves self-doubt, self-blame, regret and if one holds on to it, it can “eat away” at one’s mental well-being.
Best to accept it, be accountable for what happened in the story, to have learned from what happened & moved on.

A4/10
This means taking responsibility for ur narrative, both past & present. It involves acknowledging ur experiences, both positive & negative, & using them to shape ur future. It is embracing ur strengths & weaknesses, & recognizing that u're the author of ur own life

Q4 What does it mean to “own” your story? #MTtalk
Mindtools retweeted
A4 To me it means that I acknowledge and own all parts of my story and I'll share sad bits and bits that I'm not proud of - maybe it can help someone else.
I also work hard at re-writing new and better endings to the parts that cause me sadness. #MTtalk

A4: If a person “owns” their story, it’s usually honest, from the heart, but usually pretty personal and sometimes an admission of something they may not necessarily be proud of.
