It’s fascinating how the things we’re taught growing up can shape our beliefs for decades, especially when it comes to food. And sometimes our own experiences challenge everything we thought we knew. What’s something you grew up believing about food or nutrition that you’ve since started to question?

I lost 140 pounds. And now I’m dealing with something I never thought I’d have to face again: watching some of that weight come back. This morning, I tried on five pairs of shorts before finding one that fit. And I’m not gonna lie, that broke my heart a little. There have been a lot of changes, challenges, and circumstances in my life that I believe have contributed to where I am today. It’s complicated, and I don’t have all the answers. I’m not sharing this because I’m looking for dietary advice, a diagnosis, or someone to tell me what I’m doing wrong. Trust me, I’ve spent a lifetime navigating those conversations. I’m sharing it because this is real life. Weight loss isn’t always a straight line, and neither is maintaining it. I’m making some adjustments, starting with getting back outside and walking, something I’ve genuinely missed and that makes me feel good. But more than anything, I’m trying to figure out how to move forward without feeling like I have to be PERFECT every single day just to hold on to the progress I’ve made. Because that kind of pressure is fucking exhausting. And maybe somebody else out there needs to know they’re not the only one feeling it. 👑

My current hyperfixation? Egg white wraps. 😂 Meanwhile, I’m over here trying to sort through 837 email addresses for my Girl, Come Eat cookbook, and I’m about two clicks away from ripping my hair out. LMAO. So we’re eating our ham and egg wrap, trying to maintain our sanity, and calling it a productive day. 👑 Anybody else have a food they could eat every single day until one day they suddenly can’t stand it anymore? 😂

ONE CUP OF EGG WHITES. ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES! 🤯👑 I think I just found my new favorite low-carb wrap! It’s fluffy, flexible, packed with protein, and you can fill it with just about ANYTHING your heart desires! And the best part? The wrap itself costs approximately $1.25 to make! 🥚 EASY EGG WHITE WRAP RECIPE Ingredients: 1 cup (250 mL) liquid egg whites Pinch of salt Optional: Your favorite herbs or seasonings Instructions: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and lightly grease the parchment with cooking spray or melted butter to help prevent sticking. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip the egg whites with the salt and any desired seasonings until stiff peaks form, approximately 2–4 minutes. Gently spread the whipped egg whites evenly onto your prepared sheet pan, forming one large wrap. Bake for 10 minutes at 400°F. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for approximately 2–5 minutes before carefully peeling away the parchment. Fill, fold, roll, and ENJOY! 🌯 NOW LET’S TALK FILLINGS! Bacon, egg & cheese? YES! BLT? Absolutely! Turkey, avocado & cheese? Delicious! Philly cheesesteak? OH HELL YES! Ham & cheese, turkey bacon avocado, scrambled eggs, or whatever else sounds good to YOU! Your body. Your plate. Your rules. 💰 MY BACON, EGG & BOURSIN BREAKFAST WRAP I filled mine with three fried eggs, four slices of bacon, and a creamy garlic-and-herb Boursin spread mixed with a little sour cream. Estimated cost: $5.40 for the whole thing. Estimated macros for the full breakfast wrap: 🔥 640 calories 💪 64g protein 🥓 38g fat And y’all, I COULD ONLY EAT HALF! 😂 This makes one seriously substantial meal, two smaller servings, or you can simply halve the recipe and use ½ cup of egg whites to make a smaller wrap. 📖 COMING NOVEMBER 1ST! This recipe and my loaded breakfast wrap will be included in the HUGE November 1st update of Girl, Come Eat! Grab your Lifetime Edition through the link in my bio, or comment COOKBOOK and I’ll DM you the link directly! 👑

When did other people’s opinions become part of our dinner plans? Whether you’re eating carnivore, keto, low-carb, or something completely different, you deserve to make your own food choices without being shamed, interrogated, or made to feel guilty. There’s a difference between caring about someone’s health and making them feel like they need permission to eat. I’m curious: Have you ever changed what you ate just to avoid somebody else’s comments?

Somewhere along the way, we started confusing following someone else’s rules with doing what’s right for ourselves. And when their formula doesn’t give us their results? We blame ourselves. But your life isn’t their life. Your body isn’t their body. Your circumstances, your history, your resources, and your needs aren’t identical to anyone else’s. There is no universal blueprint for being human. You can learn from someone else’s experience without making their rules your religion. Take what serves you. Question what doesn’t. And stop handing strangers authority over your plate. Your body. Your choices. Your journey. And nobody gets to take that away from you. 👑

Sometimes food is about so much more than what’s on your plate. ❤️ It’s traditions, memories, love languages, and those little moments with the people who matter most. Changing how you eat shouldn’t mean losing all of that. Today was a reminder of just how special it is to find something we can share at the same table. And yes, the chicken bacon Alfredo soup was absolutely delicious, even if she wasn’t winning any beauty contests. 😂 Does food play a big role in how you connect with the people you love?

BACON CHEESEBURGER SOUP FOR $4.15?! 🍔🥓 Girl, that’s the estimated cost of the ENTIRE recipe, not just one serving! Creamy, cheesy, loaded with bacon and beef, and ridiculously easy to make. And yes, I accidentally doubled the cottage cheese while filming. 😂 Still turned out delicious! BACON CHEESEBURGER SOUP What you’ll need: 🥩 ¼ lb ground beef 🥓 2 slices bacon, diced 🥣 1 cup beef broth 🥛 ½ cup half-and-half (or heavy cream) 🧀 2 oz cream cheese 🧀 ¼ cup blended cottage cheese 🧀 ½ cup shredded cheddar 🧂 Salt to taste 🧅 Onion powder (optional) ⚫ Black pepper (optional) Let’s cook: Cook diced bacon until crispy. Drain and set aside. Brown ground beef, season with onion powder if desired, and set aside. Blend the cream cheese, cottage cheese, and half-and-half until smooth. Heat beef broth to a gentle simmer, then stir in the creamy mixture. Gradually add cheddar, stirring until melted. Return the beef and bacon to the pot. Simmer gently for 5–10 minutes, until creamy. Season to taste. Serve with extra cheddar, crispy bacon, pickles, or your favorite cheeseburger toppings! Approximate nutrition per serving (2 servings): 390 calories | 27g protein | 28g fat | 5g carbs Estimated cost: $4.15 for the entire recipe, or about $2.08 per serving. This recipe was part of the September 1 update to my interactive cookbook, Girl, Come Eat! I’ve spent most of my life on both sides of the dietary divide. I grew up vegetarian in a Seventh-day Adventist household. I struggled with obesity from the age of six. I tried countless approaches over the decades, and eventually reached 330 pounds. Then I discovered carnivore and lost 140 pounds in nine months. It changed my life. But here’s what it DIDN’T do. It didn’t make me an authority on what every other human being should eat. That’s what frustrates me about the nutrition space. People build enormous platforms declaring that they’ve found the absolute truth about food, only to completely change their own approach a few years later. And listen, changing your mind is a GOOD thing. Learning is a GOOD thing. But when your personal experience becomes a universal prescription, we’ve got a problem. Because the people who don’t get the same results aren’t necessarily doing something wrong. They’re different people, with different bodies, histories, circumstances and relationships with food. I eat a carnivore diet. I am not a carnivore. Food is not my religion, and my plate is not your rulebook. Your success story is not everybody else’s instruction manual. Eat the food. Question the rules. 👑

This is exactly what’s wrong with so many conversations about obesity and health. I made a post challenging blanket statements about food noise. I shared that I’ve struggled with obesity since I was six years old, lost 140 pounds, and still experience food noise. Somehow, that turned into a complete stranger judging my appearance, making assumptions about my exercise habits, and accusing me of making excuses. I never claimed to be the finished product. I never claimed to have everything figured out. You have absolutely no idea where I am in my journey or what I’ve overcome. But here’s the part that really gets me. He says he sees “my type” at the gym all the time. YOU MEAN PEOPLE WHO ARE SHOWING UP AND TRYING? People who may already feel intimidated walking into a gym? People who are working to improve their health, build strength, and change their lives? And instead of recognizing their effort, you judge them by how their bodies look? THIS is why so many people feel unwelcome in fitness spaces. You cannot claim to care about people’s health while mocking the very people who are trying to improve it. My body is not an invitation for your judgment. And my appearance does not invalidate my experience, my accomplishments, or my voice.
Nothing but excuses, I see your type in the gym all the time. It’s okay I don’t need to attack you nor am I. Proof is in the pudding darling.

😂 Funny story! I was raised Seventh-day Adventist, the very community associated with one of the world’s most recognized Blue Zones in Loma Linda. I grew up vegetarian and ate predominantly plant-based for most of my life. There was no processed food in our home. I ate the same food my skinny siblings ate, yet I struggled with obesity from the age of SIX and eventually reached 330 pounds. So thank you, but I’m quite familiar with that way of eating. 😂 And once again, my post wasn’t about which diet is superior. It was about making blanket statements regarding complex issues like obesity and food noise, as though everyone’s experience is identical. My own life is a pretty good example of why those assumptions don’t hold up.

Eat how blue zones eat. Not Inuits. Inuits have to follow this diet and have a low life expectancy as a result.

I ate VERY strict carnivore for nearly a year. Lost 140 pounds. Ate exclusively whole, single-ingredient foods. Guess what? I STILL struggled with food noise. Every. Single. Day. Was it quieter? Absolutely. Was it gone? Not even close. As someone with a lifelong history of disordered eating, I’m so tired of influencers reducing complex relationships with food to “just fix your diet.” Food noise isn’t always a fucking ingredient problem. Nutrition is not one-size-fits-all, and speaking in absolutes doesn’t make you right.
"food noise" is caused by processed food, not your genetics. you don't need a GLP-1 agonist, you need to fix your diet. eat single ingredient foods and foods with labels your great grandmother would recognize = food for humans.

Somewhere along the way, improving our health became another opportunity to beat ourselves up. We start following somebody else’s rules. We convince ourselves there’s only ONE right way to eat. And when life changes, our bodies change, or something stops working, we think we’ve failed. But here’s the thing… You’re allowed to evolve. What worked for you six months ago might need a little adjusting today. Your budget might change. Your energy might change. Your goals might change. And none of that means you’ve screwed up. I lost 140 pounds eating a carnivore diet, and one of the biggest things I’ve learned is that you can find something that changes your life without making it your entire identity. You don’t owe anybody dietary perfection. You don’t have to follow someone else’s rulebook. And you sure as hell don’t have to keep doing something that no longer works for you just to prove you’re doing it right. The goal is a healthier, happier life. Not another set of rules to live under. Eat the food. Question the rules. Leave the food police behind. 👑 What’s one food rule you’ve finally given yourself permission to break?
