Halving fuel excise in Australia during a supply shortage makes a bad situation worse.
With so little fuel reaching the country, supply is already tight. Cutting the price encourages people to buy and use more fuel at exactly the wrong time, draining limited reserves faster.

Here are the overlays using a 10-year (financial cycle) moving average.
Since the GFC, these two metrics have completely diverged, which should signal huge alarm bells.
If immigration isn't contributing to GDP growth, what is it doing???
