.@KamalaHarris and @Tim_Walz believe in an America where "We the People" includes everyone. Because that's the only way this American experiment works. And despite what our politics might suggest, I think most Americans understand that.

This is Namatai Kwekweza, a young Zimbabwean activist who was abducted from a plane last week by crookED Emmerson’s secret service thugs. As you can see, she was beaten and held incommunicado for 8 hours at Robert Mugabe Airport. She is accused of committing a crime in Zimbabwe on a day she was actually in South Africa. crookED Emmerson’s secret service thugs hid her passport so she couldn’t prove her location on the day she is supposed to have committed the so called crime. However, the South African travel agent who issued her ticket has confirmed that she was in South Africa. The fact that she was arrested and tortured by state security thugs is deeply disturbing and highlights the challenges faced by activists and opposition figures in Zimbabwe. It is crucial that her case be brought to light and that pressure be applied to ensure her safety and release, as well as that of other detained activists. Zimbabwe has a president with a criminal mind who has looted public funds and plundered the country’s natural resources ruthlessly. Whenever he is challenged, he abducts, tortures, arrests, and jails those who stand up to his criminality! Namatai Kwekweza's story is a reminder of the importance of defending human rights and promoting democracy, even in the face of opposition and repression. RETWEET her sorry so that the world understands what Zimbabweans are up against!

13 activists including Hon. John Houghton, former Mayor George Masendu, Farai Mageva and others have been arrested for peacefully protesting with placards demanding the release of Hon. Timba and others. They are currently detained at Kariba Police Headquarters. This is Zimbabwe under Mnangagwa. The constitution has been suspended! The fight is on. Homeland or death! #ZanuPfMustGo

This is a real cause for concern a few it demands concerted efforts of policy makers and civil society.
HARARE WETLANDS UNDER SIEGE! The massive deterioration of wetlands in Harare over the past 10 years is a serious cause for concern with urgent and decisive intervention required. I have been monitoring developments along Cumberland Rd, that connects Enterprise Rd to Samora Machel Ave and in this thread are steps that have been adopted and are now followed to transform a gazetted wetland into a buildable area without @EMAeep , @cohsunshinecity and @JMafume noticing it. And this is happening in many areas against the spirit of the EMAct 20:27 and S.I. 7 of 2007 on protection of ecologically sensitive ecosystems.

Far right populists have often relied upon divisions among their opponents to claim majoritarian powers with minority support among voters. French voters - and the French left in particular - have flipped the script, showing the power of unity in defense of values. A seismic event.

For an African to call a fellow brother a minority, in his motherland is shocking and disturbing. How do l become a minority in my own home? That is a colonial legacy that cannot be celebrated or tolerated. Instead we should put systems in place to sustain and promote unity without uniformity and diversity without fragmentation. That's why we preach full devolution, full proportional representation and a justiciable bill of rights.

#ChallengeAccepted I wore this T-Shirt with pride because ZINASU is heritage!!! ZINASU took everything away from me and made everything I am. The students union’s legacy in postcolonial Zimbabwe is unmatched; from being the main opposition to challenge and stop ZanuPf’s one party state manoeuvres, to being the face of confronting corruption when taking to the streets to fight the Willow-gate scandal and many other forms of corruption. Students defined the fights for socioeconomic justice and human rights through direct intervention and solidarity. Yes, ZINASU was a key principal in the fight for a new homegrown and democratic constitution through the National Constitutional Assembly and the formation of the Movement for Democratic Change. I am privileged to have participated in many ZINASU led initiatives like social movements like National Youth Action Alliance and #Tajamuka/#Sesjikile which mobilised #PeoplePower to implement #ZanuPfMustGo and pave way for a democratic and inclusive Zimbabwe where all citizens’ issues are heard and addressed. @Zinasuzim is the best leadership academy in Zimbabwe whose legacy; contrary to popular belief - is not only about grooming politicians but also prominent academics, corporate leaders, trade unionists, civil society leadership at national, regional and international levels. Despite this rich, deep and wide leadership grooming and deployment by the students movement most who are unfamiliar with ZINASU only know of it through the around 20% of its alumni that pursue active partisan politics because they are doing well in all their parties be it the ruling party and opposition/democratic alternatives. ZINASU took me to all corners of Zimbabwe, introduced me to citizens of various opinions, socioeconomic backgrounds, interests, and build in me a character to defend the vulnerable from abuse by the powerful. This ideology was ingrained in me at the International Socialist Organisation, ZINASU took me there. ZINASU liberated me, that is why I dedicated my life to the liberation struggle. I enrolled at the University of Zimbabwe an ordinary student and left a Freedom Fighter ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿 Long Live ZINASU!!! #ZinasuLives
#ChallengeAccepted 💙 The spirit of ZINASU lives in us! As former student leaders, we carry forward the legacy of COURAGE, RESILIENCE, and the unwavering fight for human rights @Zinasuzim

#ZanuPFMPcallsForBanOnReporters Zanu PF Buhera West MP Tafadzwa Mugwadi has plunged headlong into The NewsHawks' critical highlights of President Emmerson Mnangagwa spokesman George Charamba's spirited defence of those involved in the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission tender corruption scandal, urging him to ban journalists from covering events and functions at State House. In a fascist input on the issue on X/Twitter, Mugwadi, a vocal opposition MDC activist-turned Zanu PF propaganda mouthpiece and now legislator, says: "If I were (yo)u Mhofu (Charamba), these disrespectful stupids would not ever set their dirty feet at State House. For goodness sake, even if u hate him so much, a media house worth its existence would not go on a diatribe against a Presidential communication valve this way. Close the door mhofu." Mugwadi seems to think State House belongs to Charamba when it is a typically public space where journalists can cover state events such as press conferences; official announcements; state visits; bill-signing ceremonies; public addresses; press briefings; government meetings; official receptions; tate functions and many other public events. Mugwadi seems unware that in actual fact journalists have a constitutional right to access these events to inform the public; hold leaders or public officials accountable; provide transparency; facilitate public debate and enable citizen engagement. Restrictions on media access to State Houses or government events has serious implications fo press freedom; transparency and accountability, democracy and public's right to know. By allowing journalists to cover state events, governments demonstrate their commitment to openness, accountability, and media freedom.
