It’s not just the ABA. Many state bar associations, including the Missouri Bar, have veered into overtly left-leaning advocacy, using mandatory dues to advance positions including DEI. A significant portion of their members do not support these left-wing positions, which raises serious concerns about compelled speech and fairness.
It’s time for reform: separate the regulatory function—attorney licensing and discipline—from all other activities. A streamlined, accountable regulatory body should handle oversight, while a voluntary association can focus on member services, advocacy, and professional community.
No attorney should be forced to fund ideological positions as a condition of practicing law. A bifurcated system restores balance, protects individual freedom, and refocuses the profession on its core mission.
The ABA’s cartel-like control over law school accreditation drives up costs, limits access, and pushes ridiculous ideological mandates over merit.
Ending the Tennessee Supreme Court’s exclusive reliance will expand opportunity AND lower costs.
Great work @USAO_MDTN, @JusticeATR, and @FTC!

Very disappointed in the members of the @MOTrialAtty lawyers and their leadership that in large part made this ad possible. What are they thinking? In what world is this the right thing to do?
This ad made possible in part by The MO Association of Trial Attorneys @MOTrialAtty. What a disgrace to an organization with a history of preserving civility and justice, until now.

This email is written precisely how I’d expect from a guy who just moved here from Chicago and has barely stepped foot in Jefferson City—let alone made any effort to determine what kind of "fighters" actually exist there currently. GTFO, Mike. – at Kansas City, MO
This guy decided to run for MO governor against the woman who's been our House Floor Leader fighting for women's rights for 5 years. We HAVE someone in Jeff City who is a pro-choice, pro-democracy fighter that isn't trying to buy a nomination @crystal_quade! No thanks, Mike!

Did a lead pipe write this??
Biden wants to replace lead pipes. He failed to mention that the unfunded mandate sets an almost impossible timeline, will cost billions, infringe on the rights of the States and their residents – all for benefits that may be entirely speculative. #sotu ag.ks.gov/media-center/news-…

In addition to the known harm of lead exposure, especially to children, Mr. Kobach is incorrect when he states the mandate is unfunded. In fact, the BIPARTISAN Infrastructure Law Joe Biden signed into law in Nov 2021 provides $15B toward lead service line replacement projects. epa.gov/ground-water-a…

Points of personal privilege are not a time to make political speeches. We were not debating gun rights but welcoming guests. When it’s time to debate gun rights I’ll be ready when the liberals try to take away our guns while letting criminals go free. #moleg

Governor Parson is right: Missouri families, not corporate interests or divisive posturing by extremist politicians, should be our priority.
Hate won't help our state grow. I wish his Party would take Governor Parson's advice and put people first.
