I'm sorry, sis, that you compromised your integrity just to gain the approval of people.
I'm sorry, sis, that you felt you had to dress differently, step outside of your comfort zone, and become someone you weren't just to gain the attention of a man who didn't truly love you.
I'm sorry, sis, that you thought showing more of your body would make a man appreciate you more.
I'm sorry, sis, that you confused attention with affection and affection with genuine love.
I'm sorry, sis, that you lowered your standards because you were afraid of being alone.
I'm sorry, sis, that you allowed someone to convince you that your natural beauty, your modesty, and your femininity weren't enough.
I'm sorry, sis, that you felt the need to compete with other women for a man's attention when you should have been learning to love yourself.
I'm sorry, sis, that you allowed people to tilt your crown so far that you no longer felt worthy of wearing it.
But sis, let me tell you something.
You do not have to expose yourself to be loved. You do not have to compromise your values to be chosen. And you do not have to become somebody else to keep a man.
A man who genuinely loves you will respect your boundaries, your dignity, your mind, and the woman you are.
