This is what actor Dia Mirza had said in her public appeal against fire crackers which was posted on the @mybmc website & later deleted after the BJP raised objection to it.
Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde said the list of celebrities chosen for civic campaigns must be cleared by her in future and that she would raise the issue with the administration.
“Those who oppose Hindutva, we will oppose them. Henceforth, @mybmc should not make any public statement without my approval. Mumbai BJP president Ameet Satam’s social media post against it reflects the stand of all civic corporators,” Tawde said adding that Dia Mirza may post anything from her personal handle but when it comes to the BMC social media handle nothing should pass without our nod.
While actors today are running negative campaigns on each other, Salman and SRK showing how easy it is to cheer for each other.

Blatantly communal, because her surname is Mirza. All the others - actors Madhuri Dixit and Nishigandha Wad, as well as cricketer Ajinkya Rahane - continue to remain on the BMC portal. 1930s Germany would be proud of it.

BJP the ruling party in the BMC has forced the civic administration to take down a video featuring actor Dia Mirza, uploaded by @mybmc on it’s social media page as part of its Diwali campaign urging citizens to avoid firecrackers and noise pollution.
The BMC’s campaign also features actors Madhuri Dixit and Nishigandha Wad, and cricketer Ajinkya Rahane. Their videos, however, continue to remain on the civic body’s social media page.
BJP Mumbai president Ameet Satam objected to Mirza’s video in a post on X, tagging @mybmc and writing: “We don’t need lessons on how to celebrate #Diwali from @deespeak. Our traditions are deeply rooted in our culture.”
