I hit 20k on my novel today and it’s a big ol mess but I still feel accomplished. That’s what first drafts are for, anyway. I’m happy to have made time in my routine to write daily again!

This book is so good too.

Child of God is my favorite Cormac McCarthy book and also the one I recommend with the most hesitation. I can’t think of another author whose work has affected me so emotionally and existentially. What a loss but what an absolutely insane body of work left behind.
