TDD isn't a practice. It's a principle. First, prove something needs to be done, defining success and how you fail to meet it. Then, meet it.
That test could be a unit test, or an acceptance test, or an alert on monitoring.

Regression checking is often miscast as "making sure that there's no change from one build to the next". Be careful about that. The mission of testing isn't to make sure that nothing changes; it’s to *notice* changes, and to evaluate whether changes we’ve got are changes we want.

Found an example this morning which shows the value of unit & integration testing. Building a track with my two boys, we put several smaller loops together to make a big one & in doing so, found a continuous loop and another bit of track which was never reached. #softwaretesting

The more specific your plan, the more vulnerable it is to events and changes for which you’re not prepared. The more extensive your preparation, the less specific your plan needs to be, and the more resilient it can be to events and changes. Adaptability beats predictability.
