Lucie van Dam van Isselt's still-lifes are a great favourite of mine. She studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague from 1891 and from around this date began painting observational pictures with no frippery. This work is from about 1930.
The Lord Leycester's Hospital, founded by Robert Dudley in 1585 for injured servicemen and the poor and needy. Ex-soldiers still live there today.

Coffee time.
I’m seriously thinking no one is interested. I can’t even get a 100 followers in a week. Other folk who haven’t been hacked are using my old site as a repository of paintings for their site
I’m choosing the best art and I don’t think folk are interested anymore. .I’ll not stop but I’m so tired of getting nowhere.
Fewer posts. I’m very sad and upset.

Please don’t scroll past Finn. 💔
He’s already lost one eye, and now they’re trying to save his remaining one.
I came across his story and just wanted to help get it seen. Even a small donation or a repost could make a difference.
