Today marks 1,095 days of being sober from alcohol. πŸ₯‰ Three years later, I couldn’t think of a better way to represent the piece closest to my heart: Starfox. This piece was created during the darkest chapter of my life, a period I now recognize as my breaking point. On December 19th, 2021, my stars aligned, my prayers were answered, and my world came crashing down all at once. It was my Tower Moment. My Death Card. My Wheel of Fortune. Everything I thought I knew crumbled beneath me. I had no choice but to let go of control and let myself fall into the unknown. I wasn’t ready to leap into faith, but my foundation had collapsed, and I had to choose: stay trapped or take a chance on something new. That was the day I stopped running. The day I faced myself. The day I began the hardest path I’ve ever walked. Today, I stand here as a beacon of hopeβ€”a testament that it’s possible. The path to creating a whole new life starts with a single step. Choose the hard path. The lonely path. It’s the only way to break free. The life you dream ofβ€”the one you deserveβ€”is waiting for you to create it. 🧑

Today marks three years since I wrote Fractal Future. October 5, 2023 I wrote this during a period of grief and personal fragmentation, when thoughts weren't arriving as complete sentences so much as overlapping images, sounds, memories, and fragments.

And then, at the very end: "Bleed out, or grab the suture." After pages of fragmentation, it offers the first moment of conscious agency. The wound may remain, but the speaker is finally presented with a choice. Three years later, I can see pieces of this same language showing up throughout my work.

If you'd like to see the original work and the deeper story behind how it came together, I've finally put the full piece on my site. This is one chapter in a much larger story. Thank you for coming along with me. 🧑

You know that feeling of first light on a summer morning? πŸŒ„ That quiet moment just after sunrise, when everything is still cool with dew and the flowers haven't quite warmed beneath the sun yet. Like stepping outside early enough that the garden is still holding onto the night, while the first warm light rises above the horizon, turning everything it touches a little bit golden. Hints of pink catching in the rays as they beam through the clouds.

That was the feeling I had in mind while making Summer Morning Halo. The palette came together almost naturally: tender greens, soft pinks, and yellow gold. Little violets tucked among the hydrangea, with Veronica rising through the center like a delicate stem catching the first light. This was one of my first pressed-flower compositions, and it taught me something I love about working with botanicals: you can guide the composition, but the flowers still get to be themselves. Every curve of a stem and variation in a petal was already there. I just got to put the pieces together.

Even the frame has a story. It once held a photograph from my distant past. I took it apart, repainted it, and gave it a new purpose. Something from the past, transformed into hope for the future. Before I knew where I was going, I was already leaving myself a map. I didn't know I was building a body of work. I was just following whatever needed to be created next.

Because the finished work tells you what I made. The timeline tells you who I was becoming while I made it. This isn't a portfolio of everything I can do. It's the record of what I've made, where I've been, and how one thing became the next.

This is my Magnum Opus. Not one masterpiece. The body of work that became the story of me becoming myself. ✨ Explore the Timeline ↓ morganstarfox.com/magnum-opu…

The first layer of Eclipse wasn't something I drew. It was something I saw. 🌈 On April 8, 2024, I watched the solar eclipse while my life was already coming apart.

The artwork grew far beyond the moment that inspired it. But the light was there first. 🌈 The Eclipse Collection The Event β€’ The Beginning
