Rewatching Ted Lasso this summer, I got to the episode where Ted has his first panic attack while everyone around him is celebrating a big win at a karaoke bar.
What should have been one of the happiest moments of the season suddenly became something completely different.
It took me back to the first time I had a panic attack.
I was 21 years old. Standing alone in a parking lot. My heart was racing, I couldn’t catch my breath, and I was absolutely convinced I was dying.
No one tells you that panic attacks don’t always come during your worst days. Sometimes they show up in the middle of ordinary moments. Sometimes they interrupt celebrations. Sometimes they come out of nowhere.
If you’ve never experienced one, it’s hard to explain. If you have, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Looking back now, I realize I wasn’t dying. I was struggling. And there is a difference.
If you’re fighting anxiety, panic attacks, or battles no one else can see, you’re not alone. Keep talking. Keep asking for help. Keep moving forward.
You don’t have to fight it by yourself.
Red or blue. Republican or Democrat.
At this point, I’m tired of all of it.
We’re watching our wallets get drained, questioning what’s in our food and water, and worrying about who’s influencing our children.
Meanwhile, the people we’ve entrusted to represent us seem more interested in power, money, and protecting their own interests than protecting ours.
And the saddest part?
We’re so busy fighting each other over which side is worse that we’ve stopped holding either side accountable.
They’ve convinced us that our neighbors are the enemy simply because they vote differently.
Maybe the real problem isn’t red or blue.
Maybe it’s that we’ve forgotten they’re supposed to work for us, not the other way around.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission plans to close Lake Conway’s gates Dec. 2, allowing the lake to begin holding water after three years of renovation work.

Adding Simmons to the D Line is going to make these @ChicagoBears a problem. It frees Allen up to only send 4 rushers and let the other guys play freely.
BTW we punked the champs in their own house last night in case you missed it! #DaBears #GoodBetterBest

Just because a thought shows up doesn't mean it deserves your attention, your belief, or a response.
Three pictures. Same man. Three very different perspectives.
The first is how I see myself when I look in the mirror.
The second is how I wish I looked.
The third is how I actually look.
Funny how the person staring back at us isn’t always the person everyone else sees.
I’ve spent a lot of my life fighting my weight, my insecurities, and the voice in my head that tells me I’m never quite good enough.
Some days that voice is louder than others.
But I’m learning that the man I am today deserves just as much respect as the man I’m trying to become.
Still fighting. Still growing. Still a work in progress.

I’m not going to sit here and pretend I’m a good man. Maybe I am. Maybe I’m not. Maybe I never will be.
I’ve made mistakes. I’ve hurt people. I’ve let people down, including myself. I’ve fought battles nobody knows about and lost a few I should’ve won.
But God knows my heart. He knows my struggles, my regrets, my sins, and the things I carry that I’ll never speak about.
And He knows I’m trying.
Trying to be a better man. A better father. A better person. Trying to learn from the things I can’t undo and make peace with the things I can’t change.
I’ll never claim to have it all figured out. I’m flawed, stubborn, and still a work in progress.
But every morning I wake up with another chance to be better than the man I was yesterday.
Maybe I’ll never be the good man I want to be. But I hope when my time comes, it can at least be said that I never stopped trying.
Eight years ago tonight, I sat beside my dad, listening to every breath, wondering which would be his last.
A few hours after midnight, he was gone.
People say time heals. I think you just learn to live with the hurt.
Eight years later, I’d give anything for one more minute.
I miss you, Dad.
The most Cowboys thing to happen at the end of the year would be for Jerry Jones to hire Drink as his new HC.
And that right there tells you everything you need to know about the current state of Arkansas football.
Opposing coaches aren’t just coming into Fayetteville and beating us anymore. They’re leaving with three-touchdown wins and laughing at us on the way out.
We’ve gone from a program opponents respected to one they openly mock.
But hey, at least the lights look good.
Absolutely embarrassing.
And the people responsible for allowing this program to fall this far need to be held accountable but probably won’t.
Looking like this coming off a bye week is flat-out unacceptable. You had two weeks to get ready, make adjustments, and put together a game plan, and this is what you come out with? No excuses for looking this unprepared.
At some point, somebody has to be held accountable.
I’ve officially reached the age where I can hurt myself in my sleep.
Went to bed perfectly fine. Woke up feeling like I got thrown off a horse, hit by a truck, and lost a bar fight.
Apparently, sleeping wrong is now considered a contact sport.
And the worst part? I don’t even have a good story to go with the injury.
Suitcase packed. Truck gassed up. Headed north in the morning for the week. Going to the land of horses, bluegrass, good whiskey, and one of the best smash burgers I’ve ever eaten! #KentuckyOn2
Jimmy Buffett sang about being an over-40 victim of fate. Arriving too late.
Damn, that hits differently these days.
I’ve spent so much of my life doing what I thought I was supposed to do. Working my ass off, taking care of everyone, carrying things I never talked about, and pretending I had it all figured out.
I’ve smiled when I wasn’t happy. Said I was fine when I was anything but. Kept pushing forward because that’s what you do when people depend on you.
And somewhere in all of that, I lost pieces of myself.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m grateful for the life I’ve had. But I’d be lying if I said there weren’t things I wish I’d done differently. Chances I should’ve taken. Moments I should’ve enjoyed. People I should’ve held onto a little longer.
The older I get, the more I realize that time is the one thing I can’t work harder to get back.
And maybe that’s what scares me the most.
Not that I’m getting older. Not that I’ve made mistakes. But that I’ve spent so much time making a living that I almost forgot to make a life.
I’m not afraid of dying. I’m afraid of running out of time before I finally start living.

Sometimes you just need to get away from the noise, take the road less traveled, and remind yourself that there’s still a lot of beauty in this world.
Life has been heavy lately. A lot on my mind, a lot on my shoulders, and more than a few things I’m still trying to figure out.
But out here, with the Jeep, the changing leaves, and the sun coming through the trees, life feels a little simpler.
No expectations. No pressure. No need to have all the answers.
Just a little fresh air, a little peace, and a reminder that even in seasons of change, there’s still something worth smiling about.
Sometimes the best therapy comes with four-wheel drive and no particular destination.

I’ve spent most of my life being the man everyone could count on. The provider. The protector. The one who figures it out, holds it together, and keeps going even when there’s nothing left in the tank.
But somewhere along the way, I started confusing being needed with being loved.
And maybe that’s the hardest truth I’ve had to face at 47. I’ve spent so much time making sure everyone else was okay that I forgot to ask if I was.
I don’t want to be loved for what I can do, what I earn, or what I provide.
For once in my life, I just want to know what it feels like to be chosen. Not because someone needs me, but because they genuinely want me.
I’m tired of being necessary. I just want to be loved.

DVH saying he wishes someone else would handle the financial side of things moving forward speaks volumes to me. When you’ve got a coach whose job is to build a roster, develop players, and win baseball games, why are we putting him in a position where he’s having to worry about the financial side of keeping that roster together?
That’s an athletic department responsibility. Give the man the resources and support he needs and let him coach baseball. He’s earned that much.
At some point, Arkansas has to decide whether we’re serious about competing for championships or just talking about it because HY is doing next to nothing and still collecting a check!
